but yeah I saw the thread here, saw the coupon on one of the posts.. bought it (didn't even demo it) and when I checked my email for the receipt etc, I saw the announcement email with the coupon.

Well I resisted for a couple days but ended up buying, despite wishing they had done something else. But Softube are just the most accurate analog emulations out there. I didn't really need it but bought because:
-Tal is great, but like u-he and synapse I feel they are 99% there, whereas Softube is 99.9% there on their emulations.
-Having the modules in modular is cool. And isn't the 101 components similar to the Roland system 100? Feels like having something like that with these in modular now with audio rate modulations.
-Also if supporting them will help them make more classic emulations (like the MS-20!) then I will do so!

I hope it’s okay to ask a question like this here, but I’ve never owned a Softube plugin and have so far avoided Pace iLok. But, I’ve become more tolerant of copy protection in my old age and have some Arturia stuff, Pianoteq, and Ableton Live going right now.
Has anyone had any problems just using the Softube Software Center, particularly on current Macs and versions of macOS? Not sure if it uses iLok, but I assume it’s in there since downloading standalone Softube installers require it.

So, I doubt that the Softube Software Center offers an alternative way of authorizing the plugins. I only ever used the single installers, so, I can't tell for sure, but, it would surprise me. Think it's just for installing the plugins, not authorizing them.

A note of caution with the "Softube Software Center" - It defaults to auto applying a software based iLok license to your drive when you use it to install software.
This means, even if you're already using a hardware iLok, it will go ahead and use a second set of activations whilst giving you absolutely no indicator that it's done this. Nice.
So, if you use a hardware iLok, you might want to turn this "auto install license" off in the Centers settings.

Xils Oxium is very underrated as well. Stephan Bodzin uses it briefly in a video on youtube.electro wrote: Tue Jun 07, 2022 2:13 pm XILS synths are some of the best. Their Roland VP-330 is spot on and their Moog Polymoog is underrated and delivers some of the best pads and strings I've heard.
