But I'm people, who's to say my experience isn't typical and you are the outlier? If you look at the lyrics to the vast majority of songs out there, particularly successful ones, it's hard to imagine anyone actually listens to the words. Most of them are at about the same level as a Wiggles song.

while i agree, the lyrics can often be, one line repeated, with some vibrato gymnastics thrown in, but they're singing the words.

If it doesn't have vocals, it's not a song. And vocals is what I do. I'm happy to let Sik do everything else, the vocals are the part that matters and you can't really do vocals without lyrics.

I hate repeating lines or phrases over and over but so many of the covers I've done are just that. Repetition clearly works.
