The swarm in the center is part of the "Color" panel that's only visible when you pick colors :)

The top yeah, i usually did it the other way around for my skins, not sure why i did it like this. will switch it around. Ego got the best of me, eh?

I wasn't bothered by the big logo, but the new one is an improvement!

Why did you put the download link on the worst hosting site ever ? Use Box, Dropdox, some other user hosting site, I've a whole list of other ones on my site here.
The site you used, loads stuff in the background slowing down the download.

Is it just me or does it seem like the Function section should be on the right side under the Shaper section?

Instead of 8VE why not OCT for.....octave ? :)

I just noticed in the Phaser area the words "center" and "depth" are cut off on the front just a wee bit. Just a few pixels:

Seeing all the fine skins, I thought it would be useful to have hive instances each with separate skins, should there be a big project that had editing or sound design or both, like one for seq, one for pad, one for lead, one for beats, and on and on etc etc...to ease keeping track of your work.

Is this possible in U-he products? Could, for example a bunch of Hives be installed, renamed, and the variants each have distinct Data folders?
The pic is the vsti and vst3 with separate folders, and they seem to work fine together.

(aside: the Hive presets Groovebox and 'HS Noise Pluk auto'
from the pic session make for decent beat to build on)

I'd still like to be able to recognize what is off, at a glance, with limited time to master these feature-laden gui's, every little bit helps.

Some #comments in the skin text file for the common items people might want to adjust for color/contrast would be great, and might reduce the requests coming your way that people in my category could easily adjust by scrolling the text for the
# pertinent lines.
Really appreciate your artistry in Hive and Podolski!

Don't do it that way.
Also please don't mix VST2 and VST3 instances in a project.

Each loaded instance of Hive will remember which GUI size and which skin is chosen.
Those settings are saved with the project file.
Just don't select the size and skin through the preferences section, as those settings are the default settings applied to newly loaded instances of the plugin.
Instead, right-click in an empty area of the plugin, and choose size and skin from the menu for each loaded instance.

thank you!

I guess i could colour all the off labels with an extra color so you can redefine just the color at the beginning of the script and not search for all the labels in the actual script.
The comments in the script get removed when you use the built-in editor, so at one point i stopped making them during text edits.

you mean swapping "Voice" and function generators? I need to think were to the mod drag and drop handles.

:clown: why not indeed

One of the custom font variants is a "condensed" version that fits, but without custom fonts it gets cutoff. not sure what to do with this the font is already small as it is :? i'll probably need to shuffle the layout to make it fit due to the fact that custom fonts are hit and miss.

You could move the D&D handles and the Voice section to the left. Looks like those sections are the same size as the Function section.

It just seems like the Functions and Shapers should be together.....to me at least. :)

Considering the FG's can act as LFOs or envelopes, I don't think they necessarily belong next to the shape sequencer. I don't think flipping the order from left to right will improve the GUI. In fact, I think the FG's would get used more than the voice controls they replace so they make more sense on the left (being that we read from left to right, so things on the left should be more used). Just my two cents. We all have our own ideas and preferences.

I've been talking to Ploki about this skin since April and I know how much work went into it. It's crazy how much work Ploki has dedicated to it from finding the right layout to then refining it in an iterative process and seemingly pushing what can be done with U-he themes with the ability to customize the various elements.

I don't think we talked about here, but I'd seriously be happy to pay for this theme with or without a preset collection. This theme has me using Hive differently and thinking about it differently. I love that it pushes the FX section into the forefront, and really emphasizes the dual signal flow up top. These seem like simple things, but there's so much in Hive that fitting all this in an intuitive layout was no easy task.

So thanks Ploki! From your Microtonic skins to Podolski to Swarm, you've been growing as a GUI designer and you've really outdone yourself here.

thank you very much for kind words

It makes more sense to me for them to be on the right with the shapers since we're not reading a book we're using a synth but you're right we all have our own opinions. Mine is based on creating hundreds of patches for Hive.

The thread title does say "looking for some feedback" so........

So you've had the opportunity to give feedback since April. Cool. :tu:

I recognize and appreciate the amount of work that goes into creating such a skin and theming system and have already said so in this thread.
