No, not really.
explains a lot.
"Running Up That Hill" was her only top ten hit and it peaked at number 8. "Wuthering Heights" which was number 1 in the U.K. Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland, only reached number 108 in the U.S. and didn't chart at all in Canada. None of her albums reached top ten in the U.S. while all of them broke the top ten in the U.K.

The fact that Kate Bush actively chose not to push for success in America, much less bother to ever tour here probably had loads to do with it

Those of us alterna types in the colonies back then, traversing the musical landscape, were more than happy to keep her to ourselves and not let mainstream success in th U.S. ruin it for us. It was bad enough that the doinks of that era knew about 'This Woman's Work' from being in that pedestrian John Hughes movie

I'm not speculating one way or the other, I'm just saying that she was not really big here.

its ok, my generation got the sugar cubes introducing us to the mental pixie that is the queen of wonderland bjork.
seen her a few times, so that makes up for kate being boring.

and bonus, she never kicked the shit out of me!!!

my mum always tells the story of me falling in love with "wow" when she appeared on blue peter. i was apparently mesmerised by the performance and couldnt stop doing the arms and "wowowowowowowow unbelievable!!!"
i was 4!!!

It just occurred to me this swings right back around to music making as a hobby. I started out by doing remixes of Bjork songs to submit to the Unofficial Bjork Remix website hosted by a Japanese fan with a few extra servers to play with. I made the little chart twice before they decided to throw a UBR party in NY and the label had it shut down a few days later
That's when I started playing around with writing my own stuff

8) They got around

There was one guy who was really good at it and sent me a full CD of remixes. Another guy that did deconstructed mixes hosted a site for awhile. Bits floating around on pootubes.Stuff like that.

It'll help you learn a few things about putting a song together, doing remixes n such
