I hope so. I've been in the middle of finishing of a project so haven't been using the beta but very keen to try what's new when it's stable.

Ah, great, that FLAC bug crashed Beta 5 for me but Nick fixed it very quickly! :-)
Also great to see Pipewire support - maybe one day I will be able to get comfortable with Linux Audio, Pipe Wire seems to be the ticket out of that dungeon...

Bitwig 4.3 is a significant advance for sound design! Bitwig's Polymer and Grid have the new Union Osc and MG filter. They sound good and without effort. Delay+ and Convolution are capable additions. 4.3 also introduces the CLAP plugin format. If you like/have u-he synths like Diva, RePro, ACE or Bazille, wait until you try the CLAP versions! Those synths, especially RePro, Diva and ACE have amazing sound quality but can be a bit limited for modulation. Not any more! Now with the CLAP versions, they are unlimited in their modulation possibilities!

I've been using a CLAP beta of ACE the past few days and making all sorts of sounds previously not possible in ACE using Bitwig's per voice modulators! No other DAW has something like it!

Bitwig is much better .

are these versions the last (incl beta) uhe versions and good for the CLAP business ?
i have always controlled mudalators via bitwig F2 in the channel

Was just trying the CLAP beta of ACE. Various parameters (like Amp Env Decay, Filter Input Gain, Ring Mod Level, Saw/Pulse Blend, etc.) cannot be modulated directly in ACE, but can now be modulated per voice using Bitwig modulators! So cool! Especially for ACE and Diva, it is like getting a significant plugin update! Very much looking forward to the CLAP version of Bazille and RePro too!

This is some new and unique capability for Bitwig.
This is definitely pretty cool - but how much per voice modulation do you need? Maybe I'm missing something. Let's hope so and I find it awesome :hihi:

I think this is a bit of the 'new shiny' when I'd prefer them to do some workflow smoothing, and things like improved groove.

The public betas of some u-he CLAP plugins (ACE, Diva and Hive) will be available soon.

Diva has 2 Envelopes. With CLAP version in Bitwig, if you want 3 Envelopes you can do that.

Suppose you want each voice you play to have a different value on Amp Env Decay. You cannot do that in Diva currently but it is easy to do with Bitwig modulators. Diva doesn't have a sequencer (like u-he's mod mappers), but now you can do that with Bitwig's Steps modulator (per voice)

Want every 4th note to have some Glide? How about modulate Osc Volume in the Mixer? Or modulate LFO Phase? Or have the Osc Mix knob controlled by MPE Timbre. Want to Mod a Mod Depth? All of those are possible now (and weren't before).

^^^ + the Bitwig feature review - Note Expression page also was interesting https://www.admiralbumblebee.com/music/ ... ssion.html

btw. stacking so (re)creating this

also easier, yepp I've seen "Surge (latest daily build) will also work with Bitwig's voice stacking. The u-he synths not yet."

ps. gotcha so for this

Nice, now we can have per voice MSEGs for Bazille and ACE! Oh wait :ud:

All real world examples... and there are more of course. For me, the point of unlimited modulation is not that a single preset has a dozen envelopes, it is that each preset can be crafted how I want, and often in subtle ways. And then in some cases I just want to do something unusual and specific to the use case... now it is hard to imagine something I couldn't do and there is no need to hope that a future update for a plugin like Diva will have all those improvements.

And what is also inspiring is seeing how fast CLAP potential can be realized. In Bitwig 4.3 beta 5, there was a limitation where if you were using per voice modulators with a CLAP plugin and then added some regular automation of the same parameter, they could not both be done at once. Now in Beta 6 they can both be done at the same time.

As someone who uses u-he synth all the time, this is one of the biggest feature updates ever!

Yep, exactly, it's about depth of control, not about quantity. This is the thing about Bitwig's modulation approach that's hard to explain sometimes, but has been really revolutionary for my creative process. What used to be distinct and separate skillsets (sound design -> composition -> arrangement -> mixing) all sort of merge into one in a beautiful way. I can't count the number of times I've solved what would traditionally be a 'mixdown' problem by going right back to the source synth and adding some extra tempo synced modulation via e.g. Steps or an LFO to help that sound interact better with the rest of the project.

Very excited to see this capability extended to third party tools.
