Yep, this is where it started :)

Interesting development for sure, congrats

I've already downloaded bitwig to try ACE and Surge out in the real environment. I don't like bitwig as a host that much, but it would be nice to see how well does those plugs integrate in the daw.

OK. First bug report.

On all u-he synths, and Monique (but not Surge XT), notes with a velocity of 0 do not sound at all, even on an INIT patch.

You need Bitwig 4.3 beta 6 to test out the new u-he CLAP betas

I remember asking some developer friends at that time if they would be interested and got quite some mixed replies LOL
It needed some time and the active help of Steinberg ;-)

Hi Urs. Do your new plugin standard make it easy for inter plugin communication? I'm thinking in automated mixing or mastering where you put an instance on each track and they communicate for global adjustments. Or any other application where this kind of operation could be useful like multi point monitoring, reference track comparing, etc, maybe even communication between different plugins.

Sorry for the noob question, but in the latest bitwig, how do you slide notes per note with the diva and hive plugins. I was able to do it with surge, but having a hard time getting it to work with the Uhe plugins

Surge supports more Note Expressions than we do. It's on our todo list.

On monique, this is a remnant of it being a pretty old synth which assumes 'midi on vel 0 is actually midi off'.

I'll stick an issue in the monique repo. Thanks for the report!

Congratulations to everyone involved, may be the biggest thing to hit virtual audio since VST was introduced...fantastic to see so many other companies looking at this- Expressive E 'needs it'...Arturia stuff would benefit massively from it...VCV plugin host (as a separate module) will hopefully be easy to update and give far more modulation capabilities to the rack.

I am very happy to be a Bitwig and UHE VST user right now on the cusp of the revolution!
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

But this is how it should always be assumed for vel 0, of course. :)

[System Clap Folder]\[Vendor Name]\[Plugin Name]\

...If a user is then savvy enough to need to change the folder, then let them figure out symlinks. But I totally agree in principal, enforce a common path.
Resources should never be in the main plugin path though. They should be in Program Files or Program Data or maybe even Roaming/AppData depending on the type of plugin (and analogous paths on Mac and Linux)...

Yep, reading the announcement I thought "Well ProTools and Logic are going to be the last DAWs to implement this...". ...
Did you purposely leave out the developers of most ubiquitous plugin format of them all?
Steinberg?

But yes I am curious to see what Avid actually does.

I know that's tongue in cheek, but no. Piano vs organ. A velocity of 0 means you pressed the key very slowly, but you still pressed the key, and it should still sound. Also, the VST versions do not do this.

Isn't treating a note on with velocity 0 as a note off the expected behavior according to the MIDI standard?
