just wondering is there an easier way for adding different modulation to different voices

than offsetting the Select-4 modulator with the Channel-16 one?
ps. btw. offtopic but hope you follow Sami's channel

It's just the per voice part that I'm not sure if I'd use all that much. Like I say hopefully I'll try it and find some cools things.pdxindy wrote: Tue Jun 14, 2022 5:12 pmDiva has 2 Envelopes. With CLAP version in Bitwig, if you want 3 Envelopes you can do that._leras wrote: Tue Jun 14, 2022 4:13 pm This is definitely pretty cool - but how much per voice modulation do you need? Maybe I'm missing something. Let's hope so and I find it awesome![]()
Suppose you want each voice you play to have a different value on Amp Env Decay. You cannot do that in Diva currently but it is easy to do with Bitwig modulators. Diva doesn't have a sequencer (like u-he's mod mappers), but now you can do that with Bitwig's Steps modulator (per voice)
Want every 4th note to have some Glide? How about modulate Osc Volume in the Mixer? Or modulate LFO Phase? Or have the Osc Mix knob controlled by MPE Timbre. Want to Mod a Mod Depth? All of those are possible now (and weren't before).
Can't we do some of those already? e.g. 3rd envelope, modulate osc volume from Bitwig?

Envelopes in a synth are per voice... each note has its own envelope. So no, that is not currently possible with VST(3) unless you do a whole thing with a selector device and a bunch of instances._leras wrote: Wed Jun 15, 2022 9:24 pm It's just the per voice part that I'm not sure if I'd use all that much. Changes in Bitwig Studio 4.3, Beta 7
NEW FEATURES
Pitch (Pitch) Grid module: Now has a MIDI learn option for setting its constant value
Now includes the PDF manual for Bitwig Studio v4.3
IMPROVEMENTS
An untouched track send now gets enabled when adding an automation lane or drawing an automation point
[CTL]/[CMD]-dragging to move an automation segment now limits movement to only be up and down (and not move in time)
FIXES
Humanize (Note FX) device: Was sometimes causing performance issues, visual slowdowns [27061]
AD, AR, ADSR Grid/Polymer modules & Note Out Grid module: Wouldn't always trigger on sub-sample gate signals
Delay-1, Delay-2, and Delay-4 devices:
Latency compensation is now done within the feedback loop [28736]
Now does a more precise computation of delay times (for less drift)
Increased the delay buffer when sample rates are high
Edit View was not always showing existing automation when switching lanes [28750]
Imported tempo automation from MIDI file could be inaccurate [28520]
MIDI files that contained only CC automation could not be imported [28572]
Feedback send routings on drum machine sends didn't use the feedback icon
FX Tracks: Option to Group is no longer in the context menu [28672]
Linux (DEB distribution): Audio engine wouldn't start if PipeWire 0.3+ wasn't installed [28822]
REGRESSION FIXES (FROM BETA 6)
"Unbalanced PDC graph" errors were occurring [28881]
Audio clips would randomly not play back [28882]
SF2 file imports were silent in Sampler [28895]

Have the devs mentioned when we can expect to see MIDI comping added?

OK thanks. Maybe hope for version 5 for those like me holding out from upgrading until they add it. It is critical to MY workflow and would be painful to produce without it.SLiC wrote: Fri Jun 17, 2022 6:34 pmNosummer2000 wrote: Fri Jun 17, 2022 6:31 pm Have the devs mentioned when we can expect to see MIDI comping added?

I agree it was a strange thing to leave out and it is something I also use quite a lot when using Live. I am guessing there is some reason why it isn’t that easy to add, maybe midi containers behave differently….but I also hope they add it at some point.summer2000 wrote: Fri Jun 17, 2022 6:42 pmOK thanks. I just now remember that one of the devs said they plan to add midi comping... no mention of when obviously.SLiC wrote: Fri Jun 17, 2022 8:59 pmI agree it was a strange thing to leave out and it is something I also use quite a lot when using Live. My speculation is that they were doing some behinds the scenes midi development (midi 2.0? CLAP?) that needed to be finished first. Perhaps same reason Midi Grid did not show up for a while. So my guess is that midi comping will show up in one of the next 1 or 2 updates.
