Okay, so you guys have been incredibly helpful, but I think that this question may be outside the subjects of this forum. I have been essentially been editing/creating backing tracks from my own guitar playing and vocals and editing a content creator who I purchased the non-guitar and non-vocal tracks of the tunes I am working on editing and adding some rhythm guitar and vocal harmonies. When I am done with the first wave of about 36 songs in a few days, I want to turn them into videos. My first thought was to go ask this in a Sony Vegas Moviemaker forum/group, because my assumption was I would have to render each song as a stereo track, export it as a .wave file, and import it into Sony Vegas.
The reason is that I want to be able to use my laptop to play the videos and mix them with my PA system, micing my lead guitar and my lead vocal. With most of the songs, it isn't always obvious where the solos and jams are, and where vocals come in and such. Soooooo I assumed I would just import this stuff into Vegas, and then create media clips in the video file with cues I can use live, such as counting into vocals (5...4...3...2...1...0) and that sort of thing, with my laptop right in front of me. Plus, if I am doing all this work, I might as well just stick the lyrics into the video, as well as any trouble spots in various instrumental parts, chords, scales, and such.
So if that was the plan, why make the thread?
tl;dr - It occurred to me that I could save this whole process if Tracktion/Waveform could do the same thing in terms of simple videos (not real music videos, like VH1 or MTV lol) but just very basic videos with the music as well as the media files for intros, endings, lyrics, exiting solos, etc. Is this something Waveform can do, or do I need to use Vegas or Windows Movie Maker?
Thanks everyone!
