Lol. Yeah, maybe next week.

The real meaning of CLAP -> shots fired.

ACE (CLAP) using Bitwig's ParSeq-8 per voice modulators to do some parameter sequencing. Couldn't do this in ACE before CLAP!

That would include most every plugin that any of us already own from top-tier developers.
That's reaching quite a lot, considering what a mess VST3 is and its idea of "correct" is extremely, shall we say, open to interpretation.
Oh come on now. That may be clever and snarky, but really you’re impugning the work of the leading audio software developers, which is neither fair nor credible.
LOL. Appeal to authority fallacy. As if no software company has ever come up with a bad idea before, and then refused to admit they were wrong... (Windows 8's Start Menu, for example? Microsoft's 'Ribbon'? etc.)
No, it’s not. An appeal to authority would be like if I said “Waves says VST3 is better, and Waves knows what they’re talking about.” What I’m saying here is there are many developers who are coding VST3 correctly and that is self-evident. EvilDragon is literally saying that no one is capable of coding a VST3 plugin correctly. That’s just not a credible claim, and it’s just silly to make it.

That is not what I literally said.

Urs wrote: Sun Jun 19, 2022 2:43 pm Sure, people can just copy it and make their own version of CLAP. I just don't see any point in doing that.
I can. Maybe Steinberg does it and calls it VST4 and effectively takes it over.

i see this is going as expected.. the thread is becoming about the thread itself instead of the topic. pedantic times. :)

anyway.. CLAP seems cool and has what appears to be an excellent start.

really hoping ableton jumps on board as maxforlive stuff w/CLAP plug ins would be dope.. as well as whatever else is cooking!

That would be like admitting they were wrong all along. I don't see that happening, heheh.

Post

LOL, hahaha, yeah. I think that would be mission accomplished, if they see the license as a feature, and if they come back to communicate with developers like they were during the VST2 times.

Post

They can adopt it - but they can not "take it over" in the sense of taking it away from anyone else.
