Urs from u-he said somewhere (in the u-he forum I suppose) that CLAP plugins could use audio tracks to expose modulation sources as CV. Would have wonderful potential for Bitwig!u-u-u wrote: Mon Jun 20, 2022 9:44 am I really hope they add some CLAP extension that allows plugins to offer modulation sources to the host. So that I can use the internal mod sources from Hive, Bazille etc. to control devices in their post Fx chain (in addition to the audio outputs).

there is a "Sequenced FX Trigger.bwpreset" ... in the Space, Time, and Color sound packagej wazza wrote: Mon Jun 20, 2022 1:34 pmMe too! Another thing that would be really cool and seems very bitwig is a device that lets you sequence multiple effects from one interface like sugar bytes looperator/effectrix but you can drop any vst into each slot, you could set this up with step modulators but this kind of interface would be a lot better to useu-u-u wrote: Sat Jun 18, 2022 12:56 am One thing I'd rather like to see is some feature that goes into the direction of live looping.

thanks a lot! thats exactly what i wanted, and it uses the grid for the step sequencers so you get them all in one placexbitz wrote: Mon Jun 20, 2022 2:44 pmthere is a "Sequenced FX Trigger.bwpreset" ... in the Space, Time, and Color sound packagej wazza wrote: Mon Jun 20, 2022 1:34 pmMe too! Changes in Bitwig Studio 4.3, Beta 8
FIXES
Pitch Grid module: Was crashing the audio engine in non-mono cases (a regression)
Recorded audio clips sometimes didn't play back (a regression) [28926]
Fixed engine crash when manipulation strings contains less common unicode character such as:
Plug-in Suspend mode: post FX chain was going silent too early [28808]
macOS: Avoid excessive logging when the os_workgroup fails
CLAP: Better feedback when using polyphonic modulation
CLAP: Plug-ins can now be added via double click in the browser [28892]
VST3: Plug-in states were not recalling correctly for some plug-ins (a regression) [28929]
VST3: Parameters could oscillate when editing in moments of high DSP load (a regression) [28939]
VST3: DUNE3 plug-in had the wrong sound after creating a new instance (a regression)
Infinite recursion in module graph led to an app hang for one project [28927]

Glad these got fixed, I kept experiencing these and forgetting to report them in!

Has anyone else had issues with plugin scanning in 4.3b7 or 8 on OSX (I'm on 10.15.7)?
I have not recently made any changes to my Bitwig settings, plugin folders, system security settings, audio/MIDI peripherals but Bitwig is now endlessly scanning plugins. Scans for 10+ minutes from opening any existing project, not just plugins belonging to the project, and the individual plugin popup window messages steal cursor focus making it impossible to do anything. Happens after reinstall, reboot, and everytime I start Bitwig up it seems to not have remembered status of scans last time it opened.
No issues with same plugins in Ableton Live, it's even worse than Logic now which is the all time worst "perpetual 3rd-party plugin scanner" IME.

You can try to delete the cache and index from Bitwigs settings folder and afterwards let it run through everything once (this will take a while!). This seems to sometimes fix this kind of situations.Winstontaneous wrote: Fri Jun 24, 2022 5:40 am Has anyone else had issues with plugin scanning in 4.3b7 or 8 on OSX (I'm on 10.15.7)?

On Windows, the path is: C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Bitwig Studio
The content of "cache" and "index" can be safely deleted.
It also seems to me, that each Beta scans from scratch.
But yeah, scanning is getting longer and longer with all the new stuff that was introduced over the years, wavetables, impulses etc. - and I don't even scan my audio library.
At one point they may have to look into speeding it up again.
Cheers,
Tom

Longest Bitwig Beta ever?
Changes in Bitwig Studio 4.3, Beta 9
IMPROVEMENTS
Linux: The Download button in application update notifications now points to the FlatPak installer (when running a FlatPak installation)
FIXES
Fixed a crash when renaming a file used in the project triggered an error [25401]
Switching audio backend could sometimes crash the audio engine [28961]
Ladder device: Unbalanced PDC Graph when using the note input sidechain of the built-in envelope
Note FX Selector device: Fixed a rare crash [28517]
CLAP: Fixed polyphonic modulation mapping of monophonic parameters
CLAP: Fixed an early crash during plug-in initialization
CLAP: Favorite-ing devices now works
Plug-ins: The plug-in window sometimes wasn't closing after deleting the plug-in device
Controller API: Fixed an invalid error and controller 'freeze' when adding a binding from a button to track mute button [28960]
Linux: PipeWire busses added via the input or output chooser didn't immediately work until the engine reconnected to the project [28952]
