but atlas comes with better electornic samples
Irrelevant when you use your own samples.
D.K Envelope wrote: Tue Jun 21, 2022 4:28 pm i think atlas 2 wins here , its easier to navigate and make beat fast
also you have random function that xo doesnt have
and atlas 2 can have more than 8 sounds

vs (8 sounds):

Just saw that you can only sequence 8 sounds with atlas either ?! It just has 8 Sequencer lanes

What's the DRM situation? Do they both need online activation (account or hardware based)?

microtonic is a synthesizer, not sample player, hence not compareable at all

Online activation for both.
The difference is that XO allows deactivation of a specific machine.
With Atlas, after reaching a maximum of allowed activations (3), you will need to request additional ones because it doesn’t offer deactivation.

I have both and I wish one day Atlas implement that feature as well.

Thanks!
A while ago I found a website that lists DRM for audio software, but I lost the link and can't seem to find it anymore. :(

As an owner and user of both Atlas and XO - the one biggest area that I find is better with XO is in the classification of the samples. I find the mapping within Atlas to be a little hit and miss, while XO is much more consistant.
This could just be the way I have Atlas set up and should perhaps spend a little more time trying to get it sorted out. But XOs consistancy draws to me to it more.
I do like the Atlas randomising and more versatile sequencer. The XO 8 pad limit is not a problem for me - I just run multiple instances. I have a current project which has 6 or 7 in on song. XO can be a little buggy from time to time.
But in general there is not much to choose between them - they are both great tools.

Never tried the other, but Atlas is weirdly cpu efficient imo. Big fan of Atlas...

Both, really. I use both and they are both great.

Is it possible in Atlas drum sequencer to save the sequence? how? I use the trial version and don't find that feature - its also missing from the manual ... Im not talking bout saving midi or audio, just the sequence setting.

Click Browser to open the Browser section if you don't have it open already.
On the User folder, right click and select 'Save Sequence'

Thanks, It's quite hidden there.
Another question:
If I choose 8x8 "drum grid", In the sequencer I only see 16 lanes. How can I reach the others? Or the max is 16?
