My finger slipped and I accidentally deleted all the midi and audio clips in my edit, trying to delete just one. Immediately, I clicked undo, nothing happened. I clicked again and again and again, nothing. The entire song appears lost now. Has anyone else had this issue with the undo button?

Even worse, when i restore previous auto-backups from way earlier than my mistake, none of the clips show up. Empty project all of a sudden

UPDATE: apparently the info still exists? When i press play, i can hear the music, but none of the clips are visible. Every track looks bare. One track has a long volume meter running across it.

Try F12. It toggles "big meters" mode, which is probably what you are seeing.
If you’re doing multi-track recording and you want to see large meters for all the tracks at once, press F12. Waveform will go into "big meters" mode. This superimposes a very large meter onto each track.

Note: The big meters obscure your view of clips on the tracks, so you will want to toggle it off (F12) when not recording.

Surely there must be consensus by now...

Could you have maximised or minimised the zoom?

Ctrl-Z should be standard for undo in all Windows.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

Hope you got it sorted buddy. I've never had an issue with Undo.
