It’s not dellboy, eLicenser is the old license system, the new license system is Steinberg licensing.

Every instance of the elicenser software is a unique SeL. The new application used for activation of C12 onwards is called "Steinberg activation manager" (SAM). That's where the Steinberg Licensed products will display.

It says that the old version 11 cannot be re-sold, so if we pass it on along with Cubase Pro 12 it becomes part of the package and is being *resold*. It pretty much answers my original question for me, the old USB license becomes NFR and remains with the original owner.

Well the same is almost always true for upgrades regardless of the licensing system. Otherwise you could upgrade to the latest version for a significantly reduced price, and then sell the product that entitled you to that upgrade in the first place. For example if you upgraded from Cubase 10 to 11, you couldn't then sell your Cubase 10 license and essentially get the 11 upgrade for free.

It either becomes NFR, or it's part of the deal (like with NI's plugins), if you sell the upgraded license.
Anyway, this will be the only occasion where it's a bit weird. Now that all future Steinberg software will use Steinberg Licensing, such issues won't be present anymore.

Hmmm maybe I am missing something, how does it contradict?
I read it as once you don't upgrade (migrate?) your e-licenser license to the new steinberg licensing you can sell it. no?

Maybe I am missing something,but it seems to be saying that you must post (transfer) the eLicencer dongle to the new owner of the Steinberg License. If that is the case then what happens if you have lost the dongle? Its broken? or has been thrown away?
