The note effect "Note Delay" together with the "Steps" modulator modulating the "Offset" parameter can be used for grooves. Notes can be shifted in time before and after the straight hit. Using 16 steps and a 16th note as time base in the modulator and then delaying every second time interval (drawing every second bar) gives f.e. a classic 16th swing.

When i said sketch pad i meant it as a way to rearrange a track easily and quickly like with the arranger tracks in cubase and studio one, bitwig needs this.

S1 has a separate feature called Sketch Pad... which is different than the Arranger track.Bobby L'Avenir wrote: Sat Jun 25, 2022 7:47 pm When i said sketch pad i meant it as a way to rearrange a track easily and quickly like with the arranger tracks in cubase and studio one, bitwig needs this.

FYI - we don't know if the Bitwig devs even read this forum or thread. So for the +1's (or million) if you want Bitwig to know, send a feature request to support@bitwig.com

I like both Grid and Max but sometimes you want to make music and not have to build stuff. Amazing things happening in Max right now which is much more convenient than the Grid.liquidsound wrote: Mon Jun 27, 2022 3:43 pmAs an Ableton ex-user (CLAP did it!) I think Live users would welcome a “Grid” instead.

That may be... but the chance of having Max (which is owned by Ableton) inside Bitwig is somewhere between zero and impossible.fireapplered wrote: Mon Jun 27, 2022 4:21 pm I like both Grid and Max but sometimes you want to make music and not have to build stuff. It is a great feature to add. I absolutely agree, but it seems the developers "lack" interest according to Bitwish:

That reflects user interest, not developer interest.EnGee wrote: Mon Jun 27, 2022 8:39 pm It is a great feature to add. I absolutely agree, but it seems the developers "lack" interest according to Bitwish:

Oh I see, so he/she refers to the development of the request itself by those who wish to be implemented, not the development of the actual feature by the Bitwig developers.pdxindy wrote: Mon Jun 27, 2022 8:48 pmThat reflects user interest, not developer interest.EnGee wrote: Mon Jun 27, 2022 8:39 pm It is a great feature to add. IMO it is very useful and essential to be able to apply grooves and extract them/save them for a future use.

Indeed. Not sure that they should be setting the agenda.pdxindy wrote: Mon Jun 27, 2022 8:48 pmThat reflects user interest, not developer interest.EnGee wrote: Mon Jun 27, 2022 8:39 pm It is a great feature to add. But we have the twin sister of Max with PlugData available. Not quite as advanced as Max, but still, most stuff can be done. As PlugData is an open source project, I envision that a Clap version might be coming in the future with all its benefits. Might just need the support from Juce, which is already possible but not yet official...pdxindy wrote: Mon Jun 27, 2022 4:35 pmThat may be... but the chance of having Max (which is owned by Ableton) inside Bitwig is somewhere between zero and impossible.fireapplered wrote: Mon Jun 27, 2022 4:21 pm I like both Grid and Max but sometimes you want to make music and not have to build stuff.
