Do you also have the problem lately that MSoundFactory crashes especially when a track is playing and you turn on or off an effect (by double clicking on the grid)?

I have problems to replecate the crash because sometimes it happens and sometimes not, but maybe someone has already found out more.
I have already asked around if there are problems with Reaper, but there everything seems to run. I set it up that it's run in a seperate process and then only the plugin is crashing, not reaper. So here's some kind of bug I think.

is this in the 16f beta too?

Yes

I installed the 15.02 and the issue is gone. But the project is loaded with empty sounds of course. Hope that the bug can be fixed soon. It startes with 16e, I don't tested the versions before. To replicate just add some MSF instances with presets, add some midi notes on the tracks and switch the FX on and off. The Multicore button is enabled, I'm not sure but I think it's more stable without multicore enabled.
So what was added, that occur this bug?

I recordet it:

No complex things, no CPU overload, no multi core. It's with the VST3i and the VST version. Not with MXXX.
It's bridged because reaper is crashing, too. But the same thing without bridged.
It also doesn't matter if you wait before turning on and off or not.

Tested it on FL-Studio, same issue.

Not a Reaper guy, why does it say "x64 bridged"? Is it like FL where you can load plugins bridge in a separate process or are you really using a 32bit version?
It runs on my machine! Everything else is undefined behavior.

When a plugin in instable you can set it up as an separate process, so the daw doesn't crash completely, only the plugin. It's like sandboxed. It's the 64bit version.

Post

I see. Only asked, because I've been told multiple times and experienced that bridging leads to instability and overhead in itself. Thought that might add something here.

Thanks. This issue was there before of course. That's only an option for me if a plugin is instable like now, because there're to much downsides. So do you not experience this crashes with MSF 16e and 16f when switching on the FX on and off more often during playing? Every other plugin seems to be working for me. So I think it must be a bug that can be replicated. I hope.

Post

It happened all the time with the previous version.
But I can´t reproduce it with latest beta (FL Studio + MSF 64bit VST3).
I will post here in case it happens again.

Interesting, then you have probably passed the worm to me :D.
I've deinstalled and delted everthing now, also the AppData\Roaming\MeldaProduction folder but same issue. It's really annoying because I can't work on my current projects anymore.

I was able to recreate the issue on my old laptop, too. Blank installation of reaper and MSoundFactory.

With crashes, please contact me directly using vojtech@meldaproduction.com and some steps to reproduce, ideally with some project. Always make sure you are using the newest beta.
