Huh. Seems like Roland and Akai BOTH have new keyboards with all the features my old ESQ-1 had from about 40 years ago. For about the same price.

... difference is the new ones now have full automation, pads, downloadable internal instruments (and built-in samplers...), useful sequencer, aftertouch, and lots of other goodies. Roland's particularly looks like an airplane cockpit.
