Why do people here hate on cherry audio?

A person used to real ITB synths would definitely see no point in adding Cherry Audio or Arturia synths in its list. When you are ITB, leverage it, and you will benefit more.
Companies like u-he, Synapse Audio, TAL etc. knows how to leverage ITB.
But honestly, tools does not matter in any art form, including music. Which is also the reason why whole industry is bloated with bad plugins with great marketing team behind.

Oh, that shite. I'd well and truly lost interest by then. But I saw them on tour in the late 90s and I remember electric cello and violin, which I think was being played by a female, no accordian. I was quite surprised how not awful Peek-a-Boo was live.

Maybe you saw the Creatures?
Siouxsie and Budgie were doing that full time by the late '90s, as the Banshees were no more.
Peepshow is a masterpiece album. Particularly Scarecrow and Rhapsody.
It is a top 5 desert island album.

I think this pretty much sums up why you are of no interest, and no, "finding out" something which supports your already set view on things doesn't make you any more interestingBONES wrote: Mon Jul 04, 2022 4:52 am I know when I'm right because I go to the trouble to find out. If you pay full price (which is crazy, because there’s always a great sale coming up.) the $599 cost gets you 33 instruments. That’s $18.15 per instrument.jamcat wrote: Mon Jul 04, 2022 3:12 amThe Arturia versions aren't 5 times the price when you purchase them as part of a the V Collection. In fact, they may actually be cheaper, synth for synth.YnJ wrote: Mon Jul 04, 2022 3:04 am Sure, Arturia and whatever makes more authentic versions, at five times the price, the Cherry Audio ones capture the sound and feeling well enough though.

This is plain and simply not true. Due to good free plugins, the music industry has become a bit skewed, but in almost all art forms that I’ve had the privilege to play a part in, professionals are using the best tools they can get their hands on. Even Steve Jones played a stock 1974 Les Paul Custom, not some no name piece of garbage, as his demeanor would suggest he’d play. You can find a few examples of people using junk, but it always has something to do with what the art itself is trying to convey, like using a Casiotone or Polaroid camera. Beck might have recorded his first album on a four track cassette deck, but he sure moved into a professional studio by his second.a9k1tp wrote: Mon Jul 04, 2022 5:22 amBut honestly, tools does not matter in any art form, including music. Your friend is dumb or liar, as the Juno 106 used a DCO (digitally controlled oscillator) so that it would never drift.blatanville wrote: Mon Jul 04, 2022 4:07 ama friend of mine got a 106 back in the mid-80s. He told me once he used to use his accordion for reference to re-tune the instrument when it would drift too far.YnJ wrote: Mon Jul 04, 2022 3:04 am ... Please stop your nonsense you guys. A 106 has DCO's so doesn't drift or go suddenly out of tune.blatanville wrote: Mon Jul 04, 2022 4:07 ama friend of mine got a 106 back in the mid-80s. When a 106 starts drifting it is broken. When it goes out of tune it is broken. Which is not a 'mark of authenticity' but a sign that it needs repair.

Tools are only as good as the people using them... In the right hands the ‘Wasp’ synth sounds unbelievable but in the wrong hands it sounds like ‘The Wasp’.
And so it is with software, even the stuff from CA.

But that guitar had been stolen from Sylvain Sylvain of the New York Dolls by Malcolm McLaren, which suddenly makes Steve Jones playing it way more punk rock.zerocrossing wrote: Mon Jul 04, 2022 2:28 pm Even Steve Jones played a stock 1974 Les Paul Custom, not some no name piece of garbage, as his demeanor would suggest he’d play.
