Want to mention again how useful it is being able to have Bitwig's per voice modulators work with the CLAP plugins.

Even something simple like a touch of random modulation on the filter envelope decay in Diva adds a lovely nuanced variation to a sound.

Thanks for this!

i agree. it is actually amazing and something i was previously only able when building stuff in Reaktor. This opens up really fun stuff on other vst's. I like it

The few times I played around with the Clap version of Diva (running in Bitwig 4.3 on Windows), doing polyphonic modulation of a few parameters, I've gotten occasional audio pops. This was on a AMD 3950x, initially with a 64 sample buffer, but then also with 128 using an RME Fireface 800. The CPU in Bitwig looked like it was ok, the CPU meter in Windows was showing about 7% used up by Bitwig.

Last night, the patch was based on one of the Roland Templates, probably the Jupiter. It was a basic polyphonic keys patch. I assigned a random modulator to the filter cutoff doing polyphonic S&H type sounds, and another random to just slightly modulate decay, release, and attack times and hold the random value on note press.

Are the audio glitches expected behavior due to the stricter error reporting? Or is polyphonic modulation just very CPU intensive? But if so, I'm not really seeing that reflected in a CPU meter. Note: I'm also totally a Bitwig newbie, so it's possible I don't have it optimized for my system, but the basic buffer settings and audio interface are setup correctly best I can tell.

Note: Multicore was off in Diva.

For duo phonic mode I think you need monophonic modulation for now. Otherwise Diva might jump from one modulation to another when you play, just like in legato mode.

There's been mention on KVR/MUTOOLS forum that the CLAP platform doesn't allow you to choose install paths, is this true?

And will your CLAP synths and fx remain portable if the above is not true. I was planning on a bulk purchase of all uhe stuff, but if portability is sacrificed, that is a major issue for me.

Congratulations on the release and hope all goes well for the future of this new standard.

There is thread about install paths here:

Short answer: You can set any location you want, but a few fixed ones are predefined.

Thank you for the reply and the link.
I'm still unclear after reading that page, so, at present, your vst's are able to install and be moved anywhere as long as the .data folder is in the dll folder or a link to it is provided there.

Does it work the same with CLAP?

Personally, I don't even understand why any program is developed as an install only option and not portable. So on that linked page, there's someone with 600 vst's, any problem that forces a Windows rei stallation and that's 600 vst's that need reinstalling! And no one has a problem with that? Weird!

I've had this happen on a few occasions. Now I only use portable programs and vst's! Sooo much easier than having to rei stall loads of apps after a system screw up! Just copy and paste the lot from a backup, we all keep backups, don't we?

This sounds like a OS problem. I never had to reinstall anything after a reinstall of my OS. My backup deals with it. Do you do backups by hand?

I use FreeFileSync. It's not a recent problem,or a recurring one, but for example, last year, my pc died after a Windows update! And my new pc nearly had a similar issue after a recent update.

It happens. Dealing with app reinstallation is a major issue I've never had to deal with due to using portable apps only. Not to mention if I installed every app I had it would use a small amount of resources running or not! Portable apps don't do that. My c drive is clean with windows only on it.

This discussion should go to the installer thread please:

Trying to modulate Divas pan in poly mode with an LFO or a random modulator(also in poly mode) in Bitwig and nothing happens.
Tried the same in Hive and it works perfectly.
Not sure if this is a bug or a feature to be implemented later?

Known bug, we’ll look into it!

In Bitwig, Micro-Pitch expression works fine with Diva/VST but I can't make it work with Diva/CLAP (MPE enabled, Diva tuning +/-48).

So I'm experiencing some drastic performance drops with Diva Clap 1.4.5 compared to VST3 and VST2 versions of the plugin - running a single instance of the default patch in Bitwig 4.3, playing a simple loop of 2 notes;
Load avg (VST2/3): ~.65ms
Load avg(CLAP): ~1.45ms

This is with multicore off, but there are similar differences with it enabled.

Not sure if this is actually an issue, or if it's just an unoptimized (debug?) build?
