New guy / Questions I asked on the Mackie boards...

Just got my copy of Tracktion and a have a few questions.
1) Will Drumkit from Hell Superior run in Tracktion?
Some of the dfh local experts at Tootrack say dfh will run in Tracktion, but I wanted to see if anyone here has tried it yet. Since there is no demo, I'm prolly gonna have to bite the bullet and buy it. Assuming, that is, that anyone up here doesn't have any negative experience w/ it working in Tracktion...
2) Is there a comprehensive list of VST's and VSTi's that will run in Tracktion? Or at least a good place for me to get them online?
Thanks in advance,
Matt

1) pass
2) pretty much all of them do. DX plugs and AU plugs don't. A few oddballs like SampleTank tend to be flaky in Tracktion. If you're about to make a big purchase, then download the demo and test it carefully. Otherwise, you should find those that don't are few and far between.

Why? And, I noticed there is a quick link for dfh 2 on this site, but nothing on dfh Superior. Again, why?valley wrote:1) pass
I was informed that many of the VSTi's in Cubase SX / SE will NOT work in Tracktion, hence the question.valley wrote:2) pretty much all of them do. DX plugs and AU plugs don't. The VST database on this site seems impressive, I may have to dive in and try a few. Honestly, all I am really looking for is drum machines / sequencers. Everything else I do is live. Any advice or suggestions on good ones?

Cos I've never used it so I'm in no position to answer your question.Gigaboogie wrote:Why?valley wrote:1) pass
The ones that ship with cubase are deliberately limited to not run in other hosts. This is not an incompatibility thing, just Steinberg protecting their interests.I was informed that many of the VSTi's in Cubase SX / SE will NOT work in Tracktion, hence the question.
Any standard VST plugs really *should* work.
Try here for a few of my fave links (PC):The VST database on this site seems impressive, I may have to dive in and try a few. Honestly, all I am really looking for is drum machines / sequencers. Everything else I do is live. Any advice or suggestions on good ones?
