At the very least, OB-E owners should get it for free, obviously, but instead they are charged for it with a tiny discount.
programming is very rarely done by volunteer workers.
people need paying for the work they do, if you don't want to pay for it, then don't buy it.

This is a weird crowd here. I'm just pointing out the obvious: there's little reason for an OB-E owner, who already paid a premium for the OB-E, to spend another 36 bucks on this. That's my observation. My opinion is that it should be a freebie to OB-E owners, since it's just a cut-down version of the same. I'm fully aware I can simply pass on it. I thought this was a forum where opinions could be expressed. Apparently they can, but only with the understanding that I'll have three people immediately complaining about my "entitlement" and how I'm anti-supporting-devs etc etc. Jeez, take a breath, guys.

Yes, exactly. I already have what they are attempting to charge me for. I realize you're trying to insult me, but in fact you're just presenting the case as is, nicely done :tu:
"I have no need for your new plugin so give it to me for free" is not the compelling argument you seem to believe it to be.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

You can put the OB-E in single voice mode, at which point, aside from the Sequencer difference, it literally *is* this new SEM plugin. Why would anybody pay 30+ bucks for that, if they own the big brother?
Exactly, it seems this is not really intented for OB-E owners, as you already have a superset of this and can do everything it can do, including the single-panel interface mode. It probably doesn't make much sense to buy this in your case, as you say.

It clearly seems targetted to people who don't want, or can't afford, the bigger version, or maybe find the bigger brother somewhat overwhelming and less appealing on that basis - but still may want a nice analog emulation of the SEM only.

If there are OB-E owners who *do* want this in addition to OB-E, clearly there is some value there for these people, so paying £20 for it seems reasonable to me.

I'm confused - they are "attempting to charge you" for this?

Or did you mean "they have a new product they are offering for sale", because the two things are somewhat different...

To get back on topic, is this plugin being sold through any 3rd parties? I can't access the GForce website reliably.

EDIT: Ha! It most definitely is: https://www.kvraudio.com/marketplace/ob ... e-software

EDIT 2: Delivery is still via GForce's website. Sigh...

Who said I was trying to make a compelling argument? I voiced an opinion, in a plugin forum: this should be free for OB-E owners. I'll stand by it. Apparently such an opinion deserves heaps of condescending remarks (as you clearly think it does) so keep firing away, I guess.

$36.99 is a better price than on GForce's site though.

Yes. Yes it does. This is a forum of primarly people who pay for software products... Use. Your. Head. :borg:

Perhaps. If I could get the GForce site to load, I could work out the exchange. Wasn't it 29.99 GBP there? Google tells me that's $36.05 USD.

It's 35.99 GBP including VAT. Which makes it, like, 41 € plus for me.

It's good that we are free and that nobody force you to buy the plugin ;)

It's £29,99 with VAT. You get a better deal at the retailers for sure.

Ha ha! Nah. Once it devolves into semantic games there's little point.

Oh, I'm not arguing on the internet; I'm merely replying multiple times stating my opinion in disagreement.
