But in my defense, I tried that procedure several times before I saw your post,
and either I'm doing something wrong or it's a bug.
Either way, it will probably get sorted.
Have you updated your OB-E this week? 2.1 was released on Tuesday and it's needed for this to work.

If it was a Two Voice, I'd buy it, maybe. The OB-E is too cluttered and sluggish to operate, for me.

Thank you so much. :tu: I didn't know about the OB-E update.
It works now.

I don't agree... The bass out of the SEM is subline.

This is the first emulation that actually gave me the feeling that I had when I owned the hardware.

World exclusive four voice
Incoming midi notes from daw into loomer architect (which aslo functions as a vst host and host four sems )
Giving each note a unique id ( routing it thru a switch ) which then triggers a sem

Don't be ridicukous, bx_oberhausen has 32 voice unison, FFS, which puts it in a league of it's own, head and shoulders above anything else.
Wish there was some resell value to PA stuff.
Don't tell me you're the one who was stupid enough to pay full price? More fool you if you did.
chk071 wrote: Sat Jul 09, 2022 10:41 am TBH, the Gforce one is a lot more fun though... there's something more immediate than the bx_oberhausen, and it's more fun to tweak the sound for me.
"More immediate" how, exactly? The presets are certainly more playable, mostly, but patching each is hardly any different.
zvenx wrote: Sat Jul 09, 2022 1:11 pmFor me the ob-e is so much more ear candy to my ear anyway.
"So much more"? Seriously? They definitely don't sound the exactly the same but they are close enough as to make no difference, although if one has "more" than the other, it's going to be the one with 32 voice unison, mid/side routing and a full suite of effects. I'm sure your impressions are possibly being led by the money you spent.

I probably should write you in a PM, but I'll put it public in case it helps someone else.
There are two 'user' areas under OB-E presets - one for 'SEM Presets' and the other for 'SEQ Presets'.
I put them in the seq area by mistake. When I put them in the sem presets user area, they show up using the load button on the back panel.

Another embarrassing case of 'user error'. :dog:

As it is in bx_oberhausen. I'm afraid I don't see your point.

I think your memory must be faulty, then, because they all sound like SEMs to me, only this one has an extra oscillator, so it sort of has to sound different (unless you put it into LFO mode, I suppose, assuming that stops it from outputting any sound).

There was a time I did not understand PA's scheme. But at the time I got bx_oberhausen I got it for the regular price of roundabout 30 bucks.
Sound & CPU wise, it doesn't hold a candle to GForce's offering

Just another reminder:

...OB-E can be made to look and work a lot like a polyphonic SEM by using the ZOOM button and GROUP feature.

Honestly, they probably should've made that the default mode as it's so much more comfortable to work in that view.

There is one thing ting that's not cmopletely obvious to me
When you audio rate modulate the filter by vco 3( so vco as mod source ) and set mod env to env 2 in the vco 3 mod env section , it seems that the env 2 is added on top of the audio rate modulation ,so we get essential vco3 +env 2 as mod sources
I thought the modenv was used to scale the output of vco 3 , but you can clearly hear how env 2 also affects the filter

Like I say. I have all three emus and I had a SEM (hardware). Faulty memory or not I still prefer GForce's version by a mile. Arturia's is the worst.

But YMMV. And at the end of the day, who cares?

Everyone who's serious about emulations? :)
