I see they are doing one with all black keys now. It looks kinda cool.

Or flat, depending on how you look at it.
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

Does the desktop version have the same annoying hum/buzz issue that the Uno Drum had, when powered with the USB(I sold my Uno Drum due to this issue)? I don't see an option for batteries, and the USB DC option might cause the same noise issue. Any advice here? The desktop version looks good, and it's at just my price.

All hum goes away if you use TRS cables to connect the outputs to your audio device.

I have to chime in here and say buyer BEWARE.
I Hate to be ‘that guy’ , i’ve never not once complained about a company on a public forum but IK screwed me pretty hard on this piece…I bought an Uno Synth Pro, great sounding synth no doubt, but it had a weird issue thay developed of notes getting ‘stuck’ , as if the release on the envelope got stuck or something, and i’d have to power down the synth to get it to stop…it made the synth unplayable. It took over TWO months to get a response from IK about it (no joke 3 support tickets to even get a response) after going back and forth they had no idea what it was and said they’d give me an RA and shipping instructions to send it back (its still under warranty) That was the last i heard from them , over a month ago, despite MANY emails sent ….nothing….crickets..i can only ‘accept my loss’ at this point (what am i gonna do sue them over a 600 dollar synth lol ) But I definitely WILL let people know my awful experience with them with this product…As they say ‘your mileage may vary’ but this DID happen exactly the way I’m telling it ....IK COMPLETELY Screwed me !!!@

Definitely a great sounding synth but I returned mine as the micro USB (that provides power) kept coming out...maybe I had a loose one. I think the bigger one with keys has a real PSU input?
I still have my original UNO- great as battery powdered and sounds amazing through externa FX, at under £110 they cost less than some software VAs!

Both the microUSBs on my unit are tight as a drum. I got rid of my original Uno, I couldn't see any point in keeping it around once I had the Pro. Uno Synth Pro is, without a doubt, my favourite hardware synth ever. It punches so far above its weight that it's just not funny.
Where do you live? I'm sure I'd have somewhere local to take mine in the unlikely event I had an issue. i.e. A local service agent contracted to IK. I sure as hell wouldn't be posting mine back to them until they'd shipped me a replacement unit.

I contacted IK Support last night and got a response within a few hours. I was having trouble connecting my Uno Pro to the editor and firmware updater but, naturally, within minutes of sending the support request, it all started working perfectly. So I updated my firmware and the annoyances with the pitch-bend and mod sliders has gone away. Both are far more responsive now.

If anyone is interested, IK have half-a-dozen 3rd party preset banks to download for free. You can grab them from the Products section of your account area, by pressing the "Download Resources" button.

Just adding to this that having bought this, not because I need it, but because I was able to get rid of some things I haven't touched for yonks (yeah, </blog>) and it's quite good isn't it? Some weird things when I tried to plug it into the computer, such as some never ending 'calibration' thing and that humming is quite annoying (TRS cables are on the way) but minor issues. Always fascinated how things that should in principle sound pretty much the same (the minilogue similar oscillator shapes) sound very different because of the manufacturer's interpreatation of everything else. The effect being amazing probably helps a lot here.

I can't stand this guy. He's not nearly as clever or funny as he thinks he is and his rant about IK makes no sense.
