This one really has he stumped. I read and see everywhere how to create and edit but how can I simply remove automations from a plugin?

I'm not aware of any way* to just remove automation (which is really weird), but if you select an automation you can remove all the points (there is a specific action for that) and then hide it.
* Except to delete the plugin.
* Except to delete the plugin.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Looks like selecting the line and pressing Del (on PC) removes all points on the line.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

But doesnt that force the parameter to whatever the line value is minus all the points?jabe wrote: Tue Jul 12, 2022 9:44 pm Looks like selecting the line and pressing Del (on PC) removes all points on the line.

Jabe is right. If you select the automation line, in the Controls Panel you can select to remove/delete all points on the line which is equivalent to deleting it. The line should then revert to a horizontal line that is the current value for that property.
By the by, MIDI CC works differently. If you select the clip, you have the option to delete ALL controller information but NOT individual curves e.g. pitch wheel but not modulation wheel. The only way I know to delete individual CC curves is to use the erase tool and drag along the curve with your mouse. I'm not a fan of MIDI CC editing in Waveform!

Me, either. The hand tools are too sloppy and the line tool is too imprecise. To have the curve tools of automation within the clips as MIDI CC would be awesome.
By the way, to have automation within clips would also be great.

The value of the parameter from the blanked line would be whatever the default value would be for that parameter if there wasn't a line there, so from that point of view it'd be the same as not having automation on. Whether there is any processing overhead for the flat line, I have no idea.Scrubbing Monkeys wrote: Wed Jul 13, 2022 1:39 amBut doesnt that force the parameter to whatever the line value is minus all the points?jabe wrote: Tue Jul 12, 2022 9:44 pm Looks like selecting the line and pressing Del (on PC) removes all points on the line.
REVIEW OF THIS POST
After re-reading the thread and particularly Scrubbing Monkey's question (above), I've done some testing and he does have a point.
It appears that the line does revert to a default value if the parameter is in its own automation lane, but not if the automation is displayed over the actual track itself.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the info. It really is as simple as clicking the automation line or lane and pressing DEL on the keyboard. Duh. I have been so entrenched in a right click or drop-down world that the I literally didn't think of the keyboard.

I've just realised what you meant and tried moving the line before pressing Del.Scrubbing Monkeys wrote: Wed Jul 13, 2022 1:39 amBut doesnt that force the parameter to whatever the line value is minus all the points?jabe wrote: Tue Jul 12, 2022 9:44 pm Looks like selecting the line and pressing Del (on PC) removes all points on the line.
It seems there is a difference in what happens to the blanked line if the automation has its own lane or if it is displayed over the actual track data.
If it has its own automation lane, the automation line reverts to its default value.
If the automation is displayed over the track data, the entire line changes to the value at the left end of the line when Del was pressed. This could be anywhere from 0% to 100% of the parameter value, depending where the user put it while adding points.

Yeah thats what I found when trying to delete points. I also thought I saw it snap to my mouse position as I pressed delete but couldnt repeat it.
