5th track from my upcoming CD "Stevie W & The Vocaloids Vol 1"
The intro to this is an inside joke. It was taken from a TV sitcom from back in the 60s. I told my wife I could make a whole song out of it. She was skeptical. She was wrong. LOL
Enjoy!
It All Sounds The Same
It's a baby it's a mama
It's a pig in my pajamas
It's a secret that's a doozy
It's enough to make you woozy
It's a mission undertaking
It's my heart you hear that's breaking
It's the end that I am nearing
It's your words I won't be hearing
Cause it all sounds the same
Everything out of your mouth
It all sounds the same
So now I'm heading south
I believed you when you told me
That you would forever hold me
But I soon realized through spying
That you were forever lying
Repeat Chorus
Everything out of your mouth is the same
Lying, hurtful, evil, cruel and lame
Instrumental Break
Repeat Bridge
Repeat Chorus To Fade

wagtunes,
What's a pig doing in your pajamas? Haha, funny lyrics! Per usual, very good melodies and audio quality. I particularly like the piano playing and tone; same for that Hammond B3 with Leslie (I assume). The orchestral stuff in the background is nice too. I worked with a guy that liked to say he was into farm animals just for a shock appeal joke. He even said that around our female coworker, and we'd all laugh.

Thanks for the listen and the feedback. It was just a stupid song I was compelled to do.aaron aardvark wrote: Tue Jul 19, 2022 3:56 am wagtunes,

I get in those moods from time to time. LOL
As for the farm animals, no comment. LOL

Been a long time since I listened to one of your songs. Your sound quality has got really good. Always enjoyed your vocals as well. Nice to hear you improving like I think we all try to do all the time. I like at the end how you brought the chorus singers in. Worked perfect. BTW I listened to the song where a pig was in your pajamas.

It all sounds the same - liked it. The instrumental break was a nice surprise and unique. And what followed that was good too. For some reason I loved the line that ended "doozy". Just one of those words that tickles me I guess.
Is it me, or has your mixing/mastering game improved very noticeably in the past few months?

Maybe not in the past few months, but there was a breakthrough moment a while back where the lights came on and I started to understand mixing in general better than anything previously. I can probably even point to the CD where it happened if I go back through my most recent releases. There may be some incremental improvements, as you're always learning, but the major changes came some time ago.Bansaw wrote: Thu Jul 21, 2022 10:44 pm It all sounds the same - liked it. 6th track from my upcoming CD "Stevie W & The Vocaloids Vol 1"
A little background on this one.
Whenever my wife gets dressed up and looks really nice I look at her and go "hoo baby" which always brings a smile to her face. I've been doing this for as long as I can remember.
Well, ironically, I've never written a song titled "Hoo Baby" in spite of this being in front of me for years. So, this week, I rectified that oversight.
Arguably, one of my catchiest songs. I really enjoyed doing this one. Made extensive use of Leapwing Audio Stage One on this. It's been my only purchase of the year and well worth it. Thanks to Bansaw for the suggestion.
Hoo Baby
You're the light of my life
Everyday with you is sunshine
Can't think of a thing
That I want as long as you're mine
Hoo baby you're my hoo hoo baby
Hoo baby you're my hoo hoo baby
Hoo baby you're my hoo hoo baby
You're my hoo...You make me go woo
Since the day that we met
You've been like a dream come true girl
I will never forget
That you are my life my whole world
Repeat Chorus
I know in my heart
As long as we're smart
We will never part
Because you are and will always be my
Repeat Chorus
Instrumental Break
Repeat Chorus 3x

It is catchy! Might even be spinning in my mind later tonight.
Loved the line You're my hoo...You make me go woo, especially the very effective pause after hoo.
With StageOne, its easy to overdo it. You may find yourself backing it off a few % in the coming weeks. This is what happened to me!

7th track from my upcoming CD "Stevie W &The Vocaloids Vol 1"
Holy Smokes
Never had a Camel
Never had a Marlboro
Never had a Parliament
What I've got is heaven sent
So pick me up a pack of cigarettes from God
Holy smokes (The Lord sets me on fire)
Holy smokes (I couldn't get any higher)
Holy smokes (Come and take me away)
I'm living for the Lord today
I don't want no cancer
Don't need emphysema
So you can keep your Parliament
What I've got is heaven sent
So pick me up a pack of cigarettes from God
Repeat Chorus
Keep me burning
Keep me yearning
Keep me learning
Keep me with the Lord
Instrumental Break
Repeat Chorus
Outro

Cool track Wags. I've never puffed anything, I never thought it was a good idea. I've never been into God either. However, everyone makes their own choices. The music is perfect for the lyrics, dark and evil for the smokes and gloriously uplifting for the God bit. The lead guitar is very tasty.
I think this is the best track I've heard from you.
Well done!
