I had my first crash tonight. Immediately after turning off the Play control in Tremor. It's repeatable.

Downloading now :D

Using Alpha 4 the multi-out/MIDI issue has gone away.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Post

My Tremor crashes no longer occur. I wonder if this was multi-out-related.

The visual glitching of the song position pointer that I saw in alpha2 and alpha3 also seems to have stopped.

Post

Yep, same here:
Alpha 4 removed the visual glitching of the song position pointer.

Just curious:
Anyone here who reports issues with XT64 alphas via support@xtsware.com?

Post

I've been reporting bugs here. I haven't tried the email route.

There is some serious audio glitching occurring with all betas that I have used (alpha2, alpha3 and alpha4). It occurs using all buffer sizes from 128 bytes up to 4k, although the effect differs. I have been using a bit-depth of 24 for all tests, and the projects aren't particularly large (10 instrument tracks). The wav files rendered sound ok.

Post

The glitching seems to go away if I change the bit-depth to 16. Is it possible that an array size needs to be increased to accommodate large bit-depths?

Post

I reverted the bit-depth to 24 shortly after my last message and the glitching didn't come back. Strange.

It would be nice to open the VSTi windows from the mixer view (as EnergyXT2).

Will the built-in FX be making a return in EXT64?

Post

Exporting MIDI doesn't work. I've exported a few midi tracks from EXT64, but when I open them in S1 5 Pro, nothing gets imported. All empty.

EDIT: today it worked.

Post

Has anyone tried loading 32-bit plugins using jBridge?

There are draw issues when the time signature and/or tempo 'lines' are shown.
See the red area.

Had a look now, too. Not really sure what to make of this. It doesn't seem that even more feature reduction is what EXT needs. I mean the main critique of XT2 was that it lacked most of the features of version 1. And why not just give XT2 then 64bit capabilities. Why code another one from scratch again?

Post

I don't think it's coded from scratch.
For me it looks like parts of the code got out-commented and the remaining ones adjusted, so that 64 bit can be built.
I had hopes, that the rest - the currently out-comment code - would follow.
But you're right - the statement on the EXT64 bit homepage:
https://www.xtsware.com/?page_id=6 wrote:EXT64 is a 64-bit stripped down version of the easy-to-use energyXT 32-bit
surely doesn't sound too promising in this regards... :(

Alpha 5 (14-august-2022) is available:

Changelog:
  • track/mute groups
    markers
    minor bug fixes and improvements
It also fixes the visual glitch reported by me some posts above...
