Does architect allow you to inject some randomization or offset? Then you can simply add a randomization or offset amount knob.

Now you just need to make the panel white so it looks like an SEM. j/k

That’s really cool. I’d generally much rather have a randomize offset for voices than have to tweak each voice anyways

I guess this would work for any single plugin that you wanted to copy to use one per voice. Seems like a way to get mpe out of non mpe synths as well.

^^^ watched that.....Huh. The patches actually sound really quite different to me between the two. Not saying one is clearly superior, necessarily, just that they often don't sound as similar as I might have expected.

The oberheim sem in the comparison video is a new version with a filter that can self oscillate .
Gforce sem is modelled after the original sem ( which doesn’t s.o.)
He also stated in the video that the new sem has a much faster lfo ( going into rate ) , he could have easily used the gforce third osc as a mod source but he didn’t
Missed opportunity .
The filter fm and osc fm on gforce sem sounds fantastic .

as ‘px sunbox’ . But maybe not exactly what you want as it’s sampled/synth.

I think also Gforce did a better job than Arturia, not sure about bx_Oberhausen though as some presets are unrealisticly CPU hog so I stopped using it.

I don't care much about hardware emulation precision because it seems whatever the developers try, they can't nail it 100%! Especially in complex playing with much movement in the sound. Yesterday, I have loaded most of the emulations I have and tested the filter quality and overall playing and moves in the sound with my DeepMind synth. There is still a gap in how organic the sound and smooth can be. So, in short, if you really want an analog synth, save your time and money and buy one that you like the sound of! Mostly it is needed in the bass and lead sounds and there are plenty now of cheap monophonic ones. If I didn't have the DeepMind already (which I like a lot), I would have bought the CAT or Pro-One clone from Behringer (they sound really good IMO).

bx_Oberhausen was very good when it came out a couple of years ago, but Gforce's SEM sounds great too. I prefer the Gforce one myself.

It's pretty good as an attempt (and I have px sunbox) but it doesn't seem to get much attention in forums or in the press.
Comparing the hardware SunSyn to the px sunbox shows that the software doesn't quite do the legendary hardware synth justice, but it's not far off and it sounds good overall

That's quite telling, right there, isn't it? Even Tom Oberheim couldn't recreate the sound of the original SEM when he built a new hardware version of it, yet you guy swill bitch and moan over the accuracy of a software version that Tom fully endorses, that costs 1% as much as his hardware recreation did.

I'm sorry but i have three analogue synths at the moment, all of them better soudning than a Deepmind, and none of them sound one whit better than my best softsynths. Were you playing your Deepmind through your audio I/O device?

I used to think my Uno Pro was really impressive for a monosynth but this SEM is at least as good, maybe even a little better. But Uno Pro can't match it with any of my other go-to softsynths because they are all capable of stacking way more than three oscillators, so they can't help but sound bigger and badder. OB-Xtreme is a good example. WIthout FAT mode turned on, it's just another softsynth but with FAT mode engaged, it's an absolute beast because it's stacking all 8 voice cards on every note and cloning them so you can still play chords. Hardware analogue can't match that.

The only thing hardware has over software is how it sits in the stereo field depending on the hardware.

Thats it....Software has come a long way. I still happen to think Dave Smith synths when both inputs are active for stereo, obliterate software.
