Render to MP3 instead of WAV?

Okay, I searched this and it appears you can do it, but when I try to export a file, it only seems to allow rendering to .wav. Is that a limitation of owning the free version, or am I doing something wrong?
I use .wav files for all my videos and performance stuff, but to send a person a "practice" audio only, mp3 files are easier to email.

I routinely export to both wav and MP3. Works in Waveform Pro 11.5 for sure. I haven't tried it yet in WF 12 though.

It's different if you are exporting from the File menu, rendering a track or rendering a clip. If you take a look, you will see the differences. (And yes, File>Export includes MP3 option)

I'm not sure if it's now included, but in the "old days" of Tracktion/Waveform you had to have lame_enc.exe or .dll on the system (something about the open-source rights to use). I think it gets included automatically now, unless you've moved things around.

In re-reading, I realize this is for Windows users - not sure about MAC.

Not on my version of the software. It could be a premium feature, though. When I go to File > Export: Render to File, I only have the option of rendering to a Wave file. I have the 11.5.18 Free version and I have the option to export as MP3. I have it on Windows and Linux. I have WAV, AIFF, FLAC, Ogg-Vorbis, MP3 and MIDI.
You can also download some free converter, there are many.
