Hi All

I'm trying to use this VI wrapped in a rack so I can map each instrument to a separate track. I've used racks before with other instruments so I thought I knew how to do it but although I'm able to map each pair of output channels to a different track, I'm only able to get audio through the track with the MIDI and VI plugin.

Has anyone successfully used this VI in this way? Anything unusual about how it should be configured?

I'm using Waveform 11.5 Pro and MODo Drums CS as a VST3 plugin.

Thanks

OK. Answered my own question. There is an output switch in the Mixer page of the VI that needs to be switched from Master to DAW channel.

Funny how you only find the answer after you've posted the message :=)

Yeah, just like the "old days" where recording engineers had to use a mix of art and science, the same is true of fully using a DAW along with the plethora of VST's and each one's quirks.

I read an article recently where Fender is talking about a recording program "for the masses" that should be as easy to use as playing an acoustic guitar. Yeah, right! Handling effective monitoring, multitracking, simultaneous in/out, effects per channel just scratches the surface; and already that's moderately complex for beginners.

Fender CEO talks PreSonus acquisition and the future of recording software: “The simplest version of Studio One right now has a 150-page manual, which is 149 pages too many”.
