Hi! When assigning midi sources to parameters in melda plugins I cannot find the soft take-over or soft pick up option (or how ever you want to call it) in order to use, for instance, the same fader for different parameters. Nowadays every single midi learnable software has this option. I would be surprised if Melda plugins doesn't have it. Is dramatically important (and basic)

I was not aware of this feature before looking it up based on your post.

As the owner of a Korg nanoKONTROL2, I wish all audio software had this feature.

Do you mean midi learn? If so it can be found in the multiparamaters tab.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Check the newest beta. Right click on any parameters, one of the things there should be a MIDI learn.

I'm not sure if the OP is talking about basic MIDI learn or if the term "soft takeover" means something a bit more elegant. I suspect they might be describing something like the following. Say a parameter has an initial setting of 50%. An associated (MIDI-learned) controller is at 0%. Start to move the controller and the software waits until it reaches the 50% mark before syncing the parameter to the controller movement. This avoids unpleasant (and unintended) discontinuities. Without what I would call soft takeover, the parameter would immediately jump from 50% to 0% when the controller is first moved. Some plug-ins offer this capability, many do not.

Yes, what dmbaer said. MIDI learn is great, been around a long time. I didn't even know that soft pickup/takeover was a thing until the OP mentioned it and I Googled it.

The lack of it can lead to some jolting surprises, as well as wild scrambling of your initial settings.

I actually forgot about that. I had right click set to reset.

Yes I see how soft takeover would be beneficial. I didn't know about it either.

Do you guys know the difference between midi toggle and latch? I'm surprised that as little as I know about the midi and synth world, soft takeover was one of those that I've known about for awhile.
