I just downloaded it, when it was set free and wanted to pay with it anyway. But didn't get to it yet, due to lack of time....

Can I just say that I love the concept of OSC, but the choice of these really old abandonware plugins is putting me off wanting to participate.

Have you had issues activating the plugin?

On my PC the interface appears in very small (it happens to me with old plugins not resizable because of the definition of my screen)
Impossible to change the size (except by changing the definition of the screen, but it also changes everything else..) or you have to use the windows magnifying glass, but it’s not practical.

On the contrary, I love it, I love old plugins and see what we can get out of them, but often their interfaces have not aged well.

Had a few issues installing and authorising this. Some tips for people using M1 Macs:

If you install VStation and it's not showing up in your DAW, try restarting your Mac.

If it crashes when you try to authorise it (after downloading the keyfile), then open your DAW in Rosetta. The plugin may not work properly, but you can probably make out where the 'authorise' button is. Press that and you should be able to install the keyfile. Don't worry about trying to decipher the plugin - reopen your DAW without Rosetta.

That worked for me with Live.

Hm, no chance to get this running on Linux... oh well, more time to listen to #161 submissions.
Good luck everybody!

My experience with this synth is that the VST3 version is broken on my PC (using REAPER) when attempting to recall settings, either through the DAW-saved presets, track templates or loading a project file. If you have issues I'd recommend sticking with the VST2 version to see if that fixes anything.

A few days ago I saw this:
glokraw wrote: Wed Jul 13, 2022 5:45 am Novation, maker of hardware and software musician tools, have released their V-station and Bass-Station synths as freeware. :hyper:

In windows-reaper via wine, when first run, there was an 'activation' button
on the V-station screen. Click that, and a web-browser window opens with a url to visit. Go there and a file with a .fnlf extension should be downloaded to your desktop. Back at the V-station prompt, browse to your desktop and select that file to complete the authorization.

I really like the V-Station synth-brass sounds when going through some of the 200 presets, and the basic arpeggiator has a random option to keep stirring the pot. It's always nice when a pro company shares the wealth, so I'll check out their hardware next time I have need and the buying power!
imrae wrote: Wed Jul 13, 2022 7:35 am Interesting. A few years ago I couldn't get V-Station to accept a legitimate .fnlf file on Linux (using REAPER with Wine). Was rather frustrating: the demo worked fine but the DRM didn't!

Maybe WINE has incidentally improved in a way that fixed it?
glokraw wrote: Sat Jul 16, 2022 5:16 am I use wine-staging, and it get's better with every release. Occasionally new issues appear, only to be fixed soon in a new version. SampleTank 4 used to always crash when loading a second layer, but one of the recent wine updates, likely aimed at gamer graphics issues, solved it 'accidentally'
I hope this helps!

Same issue with VST3. Thank you for mentioning just using VST2. That seems to work fine.

Thanks, it does! Tried again thanks to your post :tu:
Simply had to upgrade wine-staging to the latest version. I was sticking to 6.14 due to a bug that seems to be resolved now. VST3 produces no sound though, but VST2 works just fine.

Now let's see whether this thing sparks any creativity :phones:

First spin improv with the V-station made today! :hail:

The very first dirty rough draft so obviously lacking proper drums/percussion and many many more things. :hihi:

Only 12 different effects and 38 instances….for now..

Edit: Not entering this month :ud:

Hello Yadrichik, hope everyone is healthy! Also, that's a pretty good sounding less-than-2-day track!

Hey man!
All good, mother fully recovered!
Thanks! Finally my little studio is set up properly so I just downloaded V-Station today and started messing around after inhaling some CBG buds! ;)
Had a real good time making it - 9/4 in 135 bpm, no quantize, grace notes here and there
Proper entry version will show up sooner or later this month :tu:
