Hello all

A few years ago I made a tiny little FM synthesizer for myself, but I never released it. However, after the successful launch of my synth Integrate this year (see viewtopic.php?t=581588), I decided to polish up this old project so that I could share it as a freebie. And here it is: Fluctus!

Key features:

Completely free. No copy protection, DRM or mailing list signups.
3 operators each with variable brightness control, arranged in a loop: Op 3 modulates Op 2, Op 2 modulates Op 1, and Op 1 modulates Op 3. There's some really interesting sounds you can create with feedback. Op 3 can also modulate Op 1.
Various effects: soft and hard saturators, multi-mode filter (lowpass and highpass), ping-pong delay and phaser.
Streamlined single page user interface with scaling ranging from 100% to 200%.
Very simple design, perfect for those new to FM synthesis.
Over 60 builtin patches in the factory ROM bank, accessible from the patch browser.
Full support for the new CLAP plugin API.
Optional 2x oversampling

Please let me know what you think of it! Of course, it does not have any novel features that have not been seen before in other plugins, but nonetheless I have enjoyed making patches and music with it, and hope others can too. It is surprisingly capable in the range of sounds it can produce!

Available for: Windows 32-bit and 64-bit, or Linux 64-bit. Requires a CLAP host, or it can work as a native plugin for FL Studio.

Yes, you should be able use polyphonic modulation on the following parameters:

Operator volume
Operator modulation amount
Operator brightness
Operator detune
Saturation amount
Filter cutoff
Filter envelope amount

Let me know if you have any problems getting these to work. I successfully tried it myself in Bitwig 4.3, but of course the CLAP technology is still new so there may be a few issues I did not spot.

This is strange. What operating system are you using? I recently added a fix for Windows 7, maybe you could try again with the newest download? Also do you have any antivirus software that could be preventing it from launching? Thanks.

Version 0.7.0 released (13th August 2022):

New FM algorithms: operator 3 can now modulate operator 1, 2 or both.
Several new factory patches added.
Fixed bug where the delay time was displayed incorrectly in High Quality mode. Existing patches will be converted automatically so that their delay time stays the same.
Improved buttons in the UI.
Added support for CLAP plugin reset.
Added support for CLAP note choke events.
Improved security when loaded 3rd party patches.

Well this is a nicely unusual FM synth, and I like its simplicity. I've been testing the CLAP version a bit in a dev/prerelease version of REAPER and it seems to run as intended

No polymod support in REAPER yet as far as I can tell so nothing I can say about that.
One thing that annoys me is that the about screen is active (and I have to click it away) everytime I open the plugin GUI. Is this intended behaviour?

Sorry, it is only supposed to show the first time you open the GUI. I've fixed this in the newest version.

Version 1.0.2 released (18th August 2022):

The factory bank has been finished.
In the CLAP version of the plugin, the about page will only show at startup, rather than every time the GUI is opened.

This means the plugin is officially out of beta!
