I'm sorry for posting my problems/wishes for continuous HiHat control (HiHat has always the same open sound when being controlled by HHPedal and there are some muting issues) in the thread which said, that MDrummer had stuttering. This is not the case anymore. It works perfectly smooth for me now.

I'm trying out (and thinking about making a comparison video in the future)

MDrummer (the most interesting concept which would be perfect in a way with some small additions and changes. And cheapest when you consider it's growing in the last years)

vs Slate 5 (just on point in some situations)

vs BFD 3.4 (new Inmusic version which finally works for me after some tricks)

vs Superior Drummer 3 (Yes I spent a big bunch of money on that and some expansions and it is worth it, but you don't have to do that)

vs Mododrum (I like the openness and endless flexibility about it)

vs NI Kontakt Instruments (just tested, that they also have (limited?) continuous HH support)

vs Jamstix free

right now with a HPD 20 (doesn't matter which edrum, it is about connecting an edrum kit, continuous hihat control via pedal is my main criteria, because that is the basis to make playing edrums a "kit-experience")

... and my heart goes for Melda (of course as always). I love the concept of having MDrummer on multiple computers without having to think about online registration restrictions or ILOK.

I'd like to open a thread where we put the positive things about MDrummer and what would be great and maybe necessary to be changed...

- One Problem more fixed (read it in a thread below): The MIDI input filter under "Menue" is fantastic to adopt to other MIDI-setups. It's an easy way to translate other modules to MDrummer's language.

- Still I'd like to be able to save Mixersettings seperately. That can be done in BDF3 and is so inspiring when using different Mixer settings (from other drumsets) on one drumset. But Vojtech once already said, that it is not planned to be changed, as I remember.

tbh I've not tried it yet - I think since I have MSoundFactory that I have MDrummer too but it's a bit unclear if that's the case so I've not tried installing it - it does keep prompting me to install MDummer content and it appears as a module

Post

Important point, that it's sounds are available in MSoundfactory which makes thatone the absolute Overinstrument... Ah, I just tested: It has Modules from MDrummer, but not the whole plugin is inside MSoundfactory... You have the whole plugin in the full MXXX version.

The new 2020 Library is very very good!!! Even in the older Libraries there are nice sounds and sets & in the end you can tweak them endlessly, but try the 2020 library FIRST if you are interested in natural drums!!!!!!

So it is available in MSoundfactory? I don't need an extra license?

Post

No, just it's building blocks :-(. It is inside MXXX as a whole.

I found a new strategy for my problem with the not changing open HH sound. When I change presets the whole hh sound changes. Only when I modify a kit, the open sound stays the same although selecting a new hh.

Multi Zone Pads are not supported so far in MDrummer. This is a BIG plus for Superior drummer. It is so much fun having another sound on the outer radius of the pad... I think superior Drummer has 3 Zones for snare. This would be easy to do. Up to 10 are possible with the HPD 20 which is sooo dynamic and living...

I like MDrummer's rhythm generation.
I would like the MDrummer to have a natural "Swell effect" when repeatedly hitting cymbals/hihats like BFD3 :)

Topic: Changing Mixer Settings without changing Drumset.

Up to now I thought it that way. Now I found Superior Drummer 3 works the other way round and that is OK too. You load a preset with mixer settings and then you can change the Drumkit without influence to the Mixer. That only seems to work inside the Packages, so here MDrummer could benefit from its open structure.

Changing complete Drumsets without influencing the mixer sounds like a concept which could be implemented extremely easy. I would make use of it extensively.

Or is that possible allready? Did I miss something?
