No it doesn't, because others may have the same question and there's this existing thread with however many potentially useful replies and answers they would have never known about otherwise. Locking a thread based on age is a terrible idea. It all depends on the specifics. I get locking a "Hey is getting Windows 8 worth it?" thread. But it makes no sense to lock threads which can still be relevant just because they hit a certain age. Don't be a hater to threads just because of their age!
