Thanks for the tips! I'm still leaning towards a used Panther Cub v2 [that one meets all wishlist and requirements] but appreciate the additional options.

Anyway, its a great delay, but it's meant to be fairly simple I guess. The Xtreme version is meant for the experimental stuff, it even has a sequencer, not an overly useful one sadly, the rest of the modulation is great though. The Xtreme one cost's quite a bit more and is a lot larger of course.
Thanks. Will add it to the list!

I have 2 Seymour Duncan pedals already and the quality (sound & build) is great.
I didn't even know Seymour Duncan made pedals until yesterday. Will look into the Vapor Trail. Thanks!
Uncle E wrote: Wed Aug 10, 2022 5:19 am The Boss DD-200 is great. All the algorithms you'd expect (Space Echo, Binson, BBD, 2290, etc) and oddball but highly useful ones like the Pad Echo (gorgeous) and Tera Echo (sounds alive). Plus, you can easily change the sounds in ways that normally aren't available, such as applying a fade-in to the digital delay or filtering the BBD.

The Carbon Copy sounds great. The Starlight sounds the better than pretty much anything but the lack of presets is a joke. The Nano Memory Man doesn't sound like a real Memory Man (if that's what you're looking for). I've never tried the Arp-87.
The DD-200 falls just outside of my space requirements. I've got a small-ish share in the corner of my pedalboard and the Starlight would already overhang but could fit (I've got a Ruby and threw it in the space to check). According to pedalplayground.com the DD-200 would just be too big for the space.

The Starlight gets me more for it's $400 price point for a small selection of models than the lack of presets [though you technically have unlimited presets via Bluetooth and the phone app]. I'm not a gigging musician and prefer a hands-on experience anyway. Even though I bought the Ruby and I'm totally happy with the sound of it, I think the value proposition on the UA pedals is a little out of step with the market even though the sounds are no-doubt excellent. That said, the Starlight hasn't been entirely ruled out yet - but I wouldn't buy that any time soon.

That Panther Cub definitely looks really cool. Here are a handful of other small, mono delays worth considering:

EHX Memory Toy (trimpots usually unlock self-oscillation, if not available already)
EHX Canyon (this one's a multi-delay)
Malekko 616 (goes into oscillation quick)
Subdecay Anamnesis (this one's my definite favorite)

Sure, I agree, especially if you’re not playing out live. When I’m playing in the studio, I use a DI off my amp to send to delays and reverbs in my computer (100% send only, no dry signal). The combination of the midrange, mono guitar speaker and the full range, stereo delays and reverbs is amazing.

btw, UA sent out an email this morning saying that the control app was updated. New artist presets and the ability to change footswitch functions. What can you change the foot switches to be?

The new functions have to vary per product but on the Ruby there are four options to configure the switches as such...

Left Switch | Right Switch
1. Live | Preset
2. Boost | Live/Preset
3. Vibrato | Live/Preset
4. Boost | Vibrato

Haven't dug into it yet. For instance, does Vibrato only work on the Vibrato channel? I assume yes, but it would be cool if they expanded that to the others. Not sure and can't test at the moment.

Very cool! Thanks!

I do love that the Boost can now be assigned to a footswitch. It's a nice touch.

I was still hoping the new version would allow for editing parameters directly in the app. Particularly for stereo setups where they run a second instance of the amp that you can tweak the settings of. But I'll take any incremental improvement.

Those UA amp pedals sound pretty good I gotta admit. Dunno if I'll get any, I gotta stop buying tube amps first I think.

This one is still tentative.

That reminds me of my old 1963 Deluxe. Best amp I ever owned until I got it recapped. Completely ruined the amp.

Doh, its actually a tremolo effect apparently, not an amp. Not a big tremolo guy, at least im more in the market for a tube drive spring reverb in the same format. Likely i wont get one of these for a while.

*I thought as much, but hadn't gotten any info
on it until today.

It's his own custom design apparently, it's probably pretty darn cool honestly. I'm gonna see if he might care to design a tube reverb as well. :tu:

I guess this is a $15-1800 unit depending on material availability and whatnot, currently there
exists only one I think.

*He apparently apprenticed at Fuchs to learn about amps and also teaches audio electronics classes at the University of the Arts and the Art Institute of Philadelphia. E.g. pretty knowledgeable amp
guy I suspect.

I make a tube reverb for $399. It's slightly more legit than the Fender one, only because I use a 6K6 tube and they use a 6V6:

You're tone bakery as well? cool I didn't know that. I'll think about that reverb unit, that price
is ridiculously low, do you have any in stock? thanks :tu:

We only have black ones in stock. I’ll upload a picture.
