You’re not talking about the M1 Ultra or even them M1 Max/Pro. Funny that you’ve got to go to Intel’s latest 240W desktop processors to compete with a 60W laptop from Apple.
It's funny that you need to always call up the power consumption, which is never contemplated in benchmarks. :hihi:

That "60W laptop from Apple" often costs more than a powerful 12900K machine, anyway.
power consumption IS performance.
You don't have infinite cooling capabilities.

I can't be arsed to argue this again because everything has been said and proven over and over, what are you doing in this thread anyway?

So there’s no real reason for Apple to stop making it available.
Not completely. There's also hardware extensions on the M1 chip in order to run some of the complex instructions faster.
And it would indeed not make sense to drop this. It would even make sense to expand it, as it can be used for virtualization in software like Docker and VMware. Making the Mac a killer machine for development.

That's true. But I have not seen any laptops with comparable GPU and screens. So real valid comparisons should be MacStudio and upcoming MacPro's against Intel top line CPU's.

I can speak from experience that my MacStudio M1 MAX performs about 30% faster than my previous Intel i9-9900k overclocked at 5Ghz. And it does that at 1/3 of the power drain, staying at 26 degrees Celsius on average.

From the power savings alone, you can buy another Mac in 2 to 3 years.

Unfortunately, Izotope went back on their plans to update Exponential Audio Nimbus and R4 for Apple Silicon.

When I asked Izotope support a few months ago, they said they would update Nimbus and R4 by end of summer, but I just contacted support for an update, and they said they don’t have plans to update them anymore.
