Usually the appeal in modular setups for me is to do some kind of wild stacking of synths and samples, but there is no modular that solved the problem of doing this the quick way.
For example if I have a sample and I want to stereorize it. I usually duplicate the sampler unit, pan one left and one right and then apply a small lfo to the pitch of one of the samplers.
the problem is that it's really a hassle if you want to change samples or modify a setting (like decay) that should change on both units.
It would be so amazing if you could implement a sort of ghost unit feature, where you could select a synth, sampler, mux componant and clone it so that it automatically follows the original unit, but with the twist that once you connect a modulation input then this one input is taken out of the syncing equation. so you can modify certain parameters indepentant wile having all others still follow the component that the ghost was created from.
this would really allow for creating wild patches that can easily be changed.

To stereofy a source, what about using a stereo chorus, for example the "Roomy Chorus" preset?

Spectral effects are on the wishlist, once they are added I suppose it'll be possible to add a vibrato later down the dsp path for such double tracking (instead of controlling the pitch of synth/sampler), then duplicating samplers won't be necessary.

No need for spectral effects to apply nice vibrato on a sound source. Simply use a short delay line and modulate the delay with a sine wave. When the delay is decreasing picth increases, when delay is increasing pitch decreases. In fact similar to the Doppler effect. Applying this separately for left and right and inversing the pitching effect this results in a nice stereo chorus. See the chorus presets for implementations.

that was just a basic example, but it would be so cool to be able to create duplicates with different modulations that reference a singular original source (Sample, Waveform, etc). If you only have a stack of 2 instruments it's not such a big problem, but once you go further than 2 it's just a hassle to adjust every single instance of a stack if you want to change a parameter in all children of a stack.mutools wrote: Thu Aug 11, 2022 1:30 pm To stereofy a source, what about using a stereo chorus, for example the "Roomy Chorus" preset?

I know.
But i wanted to emphasize that there are often several ways doing something.
If way X is not present in some app version then creatively search for way Y or Z.
PS: I'm not saying your FR doesn't make sense, it certainly does, but it's far from a simple FR.
Maybe one day i'll find a good way to do something like that, eg control the sample selector of multiple samplers at the same time, like you can control multiple parameters with a single meta-parameter.

thanks, I can image that it's a pretty drastic change, but it would really unlock a lot of modular power.mutools wrote: Thu Aug 11, 2022 4:01 pmI know.

Personally I think the best way would be if Samples where their own object/device, basically the window that pops up if you double click on a waveform in a sampler, where one defines cue points, would be a seperate device that can be plugged into a sampler with a cable, so you could simply plug a sample object into multiple devices and when you change the sample in the sample object/device it just updates across all the connected samplers.
Maybe a new "data" input type next to audio, mod and event on the sampler units? Wouldn't break backwards compatiblity since one doesn't need to use it.
syncing the other parameters is already possible by just connecting a parameter event generator to multiple samplers, although it would be nice if the options would show all the connected devices and one could maybe change the value scaling per device or add/subtract offsets from the main value that's transmitted.
just thinking out loud
