Would be great to have AU, VST3 and Wave Shell support without workarounds... Most DAWs can do.
This is the only thing which personally keeps me from using MuLab as my Main DAW for years now.

To answer my own question: Yes it is, by means of the "plugin factory" principle in VST 3.

But is the a future for VST3, AU & Clap?

I've seen some great plugins that make it a shame that MuLab doesn't support vst 3. But personally, I would prefer CLAP support if it was a choice.

I agree, but I can see that Jo will want to see how well its adopted by the industry before committing himself ,,,, after all, he's the only one doing the programming.sl23 wrote: Sat Aug 13, 2022 6:44 am But personally, I would prefer CLAP support if it was a choice.

Sure. He makes a great Job. And MuLab is fantastic. But supporting only VST 2 which hast no Future and also Not the Shell on VST 2 (or ANY Plugin Format) is not enough, as some plugin developers do not support VST 2 anymore and deliver only VST 3 and AU Plugins. I think this should bei the next big improvement.

I agree. Fact is, like it or not, VST3 has a far larger base than CLAP, these two formats need to be covered. It'll be quite a few years before CLAP becomes the next standard, if that even happens.
Meanwhile, MuLab is stuck with VST2 for an unknown looong period until something happens to make the development time choice worth while.
Understandable, but I think it's time to add both formats to MuLab for M10.

I'm having a serious look at CLAP.
It surely looks interesting!
If MuLab would support CLAP and there would be VST3 to CLAP and AU to CLAP wrappers around, then we're a big step forward.

That’s great
Are there any good ways to convert VST 3/AU plugins to Clap?
And are they stable?

I believe most of the actual coding so far has been to go the other way. One of the main purposes for which CLAP was introduced was to allow developers to create their plugins once, for CLAP, and use various adaptors to get the CLAP plugins working in hosts that require other formats - so one to load CLAP plugins into AU-only hosts, another for VST-only hosts, etc.TonesFreak wrote: Mon Aug 15, 2022 2:17 pm Are there any good ways to convert VST 3/AU plugins to Clap?
That said, it should theoretically be possible to go the other way - but it would most likely work in a manner similar to the Waves shell and the like, or else be a separate "host" plugin, which you would load into the DAW then load the CLAP plugins into that host plugin's interface.

Yay for new tech! Most of my VSTs however are VST3 and the given companies will be supporting them in that form for some time. I bought a small fortune of Waves VSTs...which I can't use in MULab.
Please add support for VST3 and\or Waves Plugin support.
Thank you.

Yes, please! I'm pretty sure it would also attract some more potential customers;)
P.S. Even Native Instruments (famous for being deaf to it's customers voices) is working on VST3 implementation in their Maschine software - once done, it will be difficult to compete with them;)
