Ableton Instrument chain selector.... way to do in M9?

Is there a way in Mulab to accomplish Abletons (instrument + fx) chain selector?

Was wondering if its possible to do inside a rack...
If you have different instruments inside a rack and you can automate through the different instruments while a midi clip is playing...

Also it doesn't cause a cpu hit since the instruments are not all playing at the same time.
It makes it easy to create varying subtle changes to the sound without having to have them all on individual tracks etc.

I think you can do the same using a Note Event Dispatcher:

Set the Note Event Dispatcher mode to "Key Range".
Then when Special Key = C-1 then C-1 will select out chain 1, C#-1 will select out chain 2, etc.
And when using Note Pads it can also be done via GUI.
