Allomerus - Sent To The Sublimation Chamber
John Wegner: Guitar, Bass, Synths & Vocals
Paul Wegner: Drums & Percussion
This track was initially written in the 1980s and this version is true to the original spirit, complete with analogue echo shenanigans, which at the time we thought was very out there.

Lyrics:
I did nothing...
They said forget the details
You were cheating the curfew
I was escorted with expert precision
This trek was nothing new
They pushed me onwards
I tripped on a sheet of rust
Decay is dripping from the ceiling
Orders from the upper crust
Then up ahead.
On embossed plastic
The immortal words.
I had arrived.

Cool! Like the song and the video footage. Is this from a game? Which?
This track could be part of a space musical... has not a typical song-like structure, has partly a nice edgy zappa'esk feeling.

I always look forward to your stuff. Brings me back to my prog rock days. This one doesn't disappoint. Very well done and interesting all the way through. Very cool video. The song does have a very analog feel to it. Was it actually recorded with analog equipment? Just curious.
Anyway,

Thanks Peter! The footage is stock from a couple of web sites, don't think it's from a game but I wouldn't know if it was. I deliberately made it atypical, we wanted to make a statement in those days when Prog wasn't cool anymore.] Peter:H [ wrote: ↑Sat Aug 13, 2022 9:54 am Cool! Like the song and the video footage. Thanks Wags. The delay I used was an old analog one. (Ibanez AD100) The synths are from Logic Pro, mainly Alchemy using the analogue simulations. The 'blade runner' style synth in the echo section is my SY1000 guitar synth. Everything else is digital/emulated.wagtunes wrote: ↑Sat Aug 13, 2022 5:34 pm I always look forward to your stuff. The Drums are of course analogue!

Intense and involving! The analog echo enhances the mood. Effective sci-fi video.

Thanks Frantz. I am glad it is being listened to favourably, it's hard sometimes when you look back on something you did with your retro-spectacles on. I always loved playing this and mucking about with the echo.

It starts and ends like an early '70s Camel track. The psychedelic section sounds like something Hawkwind might have recorded around the same time, possibly aided by chemicals. I liked some of the more exotic percussion in that segment.
Good work

Reminds me of really early Genesis and the last couple minutes really early Floyd. Very cool listen.
