Yes, same here. Bought Live 11 but still using Live 10, because it is (/was) more stable than 11 in my opinion. But to be fair, the current Live 11.1.6 version runs very well.jules99 wrote: Mon Aug 22, 2022 3:32 pmThis may or may not help you, but I've heard from quite a few live operators, ie people who use Live as a playback / backing track tool, who, because of this, refuse to switch over to 11 and stay with 10. That version, in its current state, seems to be pretty rock rolid for live purposes. No idea if that is also the case when you run it in rosetta mode on an M1 machine, however.ssaudio_ wrote: Sat Aug 20, 2022 12:24 am Hi everybody!
So for a recent show I used Ableton 11 Standard for playback (first time using it) and ran it off my M1 Max 64GB RAM Macbook Pro.
I had a weird situation where Ableton would randomly stutter, and an even weirder thing was that it would run at approximately 25% CPU. Granted, my session had over a 1000 tracks at 96/24. However, when I ported the exact same session over to my backup machine (2015 Intel Macbook Pro), it ran at no more than 10% the CPU, averaging at 7% CPU.
Anybody else have any idea on what could be wrong? I was running the 11.1 version of Ableton on the M1 Mac which is Apple Silicon native.
In terms of CPU usage, I couldn't recognized any difference....

Interesting, maybe it is an M1 related problem.-nko- wrote: Mon Aug 22, 2022 3:59 pmTry with different buffer sizes. Low buffers seem to work better on M1 Macs.ssaudio_ wrote: Sat Aug 20, 2022 12:24 am Hi everybody!

Got a pretty good spec i9-10900k and the thought of running even a 1/10th of that track count at 16/44.1 has made my laptop fans go full blastdayjob wrote: Mon Aug 22, 2022 4:53 pm are people really running 1000 tracks at 24/96 from a laptop?

hiya, can someone clear up this confusion for me?
i currently have Live 11 suite installed on my ageing imac.
i intend to replace the imac with with a mac mini sometime in the future and also purchase a macbook pro for when im on the go.
im thinking that if i de-authorize the imac, i will have my 2 activations. the following page on the ableton website is confusing me.
https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/artic ... stallation
"It is not possible to de-authorize Live on a computer. In case you need to install Live on a different or new machine, it is necessary to uninstall Live from your old computer and to download Live from your user account onto the new computer in order to install it on the new machine. Note that our license agreement only allows the use of Live on your own computers."
it then goes on to say,
"Note: Live comes with two unlocks which can be used to authorize two of your machines. It is not possible to transfer unlocks to other machines or deactivate used unlocks. You can however transfer your license as explained in this article."
so which one is it lol?

I've had to re-install Live on multiple PCs and Macs over the years, at least 4. If you load Live on your new computer and it won't let you authorize it, just email them and they'll get you a new auth.

that is indeed confusing, but ask support for extra authorisations or unlocks... when you do the new installs.humpo72 wrote: Wed Aug 24, 2022 7:29 pm hiya, can someone clear up this confusion for me?

I mean Hans Zimmer and XL Junkie probably do but they've also got server farms setup to handle the workload.. Sorry no current CPU is running anywhere near that number on its own, I want whatever that dude is smoking.

Hi everybody!
Lately I have seen that several packs have been discontinued on the Ableton website. Some of them are sound packs. Do you have experience of having problems with them?

And got it again.sQeetz wrote: Sun Jan 16, 2022 4:42 pm Had it, sold it.... the lack of proper Plugin management was enough for me to ditch it. I don't understand how such an evolved DAW doesn't have any kind of Plugin management?
Found out a way to neatly manage all plugins the way I like
In the User Library I created a folder simply named Plugins and within more folders corresponding the hierarchy I'm used to for years.
Now I loaded every single plugin, saved it (little disc icon) and moved it to the corresponding folder. Took some time, but, well....
Now I named one Collection Instruments, the other one Effects and favorited the categories into them.
Nice & tidy...
