Hi all,
Since I've heard the rumours about T2 coming out and since all the (entertaining) hoaxes pointed to some limited knowledge about the coming up features, I'd like to know what currently is rock solid fact about T2. What is known and what is hoped to be implemented?
I personally hope that MIDI clock sync will be implemented (using T2 as a host) and that the glitches with ReWire are going to be fixed (I'm not sure whether this is a problem of Tracktion or the ReWire protocol, though... does anyone know this?).

Although I personally have no need for it:
Because Mackie distributes this nice external controller (Mackie Control), there will be support for external hardware controllers and/or MMC (Midi Machine Control). IIRC this was confirmed by Jules himself.

I'm assuming you mean the way that you lose the incoming audio of the first note on the first bar via ReWire. The work-around is to add a bars rest at the beginning of your Tracktion track and your ReWire slave track.bassport wrote:Hi all,

The problem is in Tracktion, and is similar to the note dropping bug that affects MIDI clips when you copy and paste them. This one has basically driven me away from Tracktion at present. It is SO annoying, and I've not found an intuitive work-around that isn't nbasically a waste of time. T2 really must fix this, but then again T1 should have - and often claimed to.
The problem is not with the ReWIre protocol itself, as evidenced by the fact that it doesn;t happen in any other major hosts when using ReWire.

The dropped first note thing happens all the time in DP4, and I'm pretty sure I noticed it with some other host's demo that I tried out, though I can't remember which one it was.
I usually like putting an empty bar in Reason anyway, because of the lack of a count-in feature, so it's not such a big deal to me.

I could probably say a few educated speculations due to emails back and forth of a few requests, but I don't want to. I'd probably email him with concerns if you notice a bug or something significant let him know in email

Here's 50 words about the T2 feature list:

Didn't know that... either a quirk within ReWire or a cooincidence perhaps?Warmonger wrote:The dropped first note thing happens all the time in DP4, and I'm pretty sure I noticed it with some other host's demo that I tried out, though I can't remember which one it was.

I've used the following as ReWire hosts WITHOUT this happening, though:
Cubase SX 1 (registered)
Sonar 3 and 4 (demos)
Adobe Audition
Ableton Live 4
So for me, this is a problem unique to Tracktion, and one I really hope they solve, because I use Reason as my main synth/sound module.
Thanks for feedback

Never tried it with other Sequencers, but that's the bug I mean. I really hope it's fixed in T2, because the main purpose for tracktion 2 would be for me to use it with Reason via ReWire and have access to VST technology and MIDI clock sync.headquest wrote:Didn't know that... either a quirk within ReWire or a cooincidence perhaps?Warmonger wrote:The dropped first note thing happens all the time in DP4, and I'm pretty sure I noticed it with some other host's demo that I tried out, though I can't remember which one it was.
