Im using tracktion on a mac g4 867mhz power book with 640mb of ram and im getting pops and dropouts playing back a really simple project with 3 midi tracks each playing tracktions sampler, all using the same preset which has 5 drum sounds. Any ideas on what the problem is?
I notice that the cpu meter jumps up a tiny bit when these dropouts occur, but only to about 18% or so...

im using built in audio. i have no idea what the driver is... whatevers default i guess. the latency in tracktion is set to default as well, 896 samples.
should i change the latency?

what kind of driver the soundcard is using should be listed in your tracktion prefs

What version of OSX? ...Depending on how big the samples are, the sampler can drag down the cpu worse than some VSTs... I noticed this using the sampler for mutiple drum tracks... Tracktion has been developed lately on Panther, so no telling what it will do with Jaguar running? I used to run it on a G4 1.25ghz with Panther, and built-in audio no problem, at around 512... so that does sound like unusually high cpu usage... Have any USB devices for audio running?
