If I'm not mistaken, it used to work that way, with just a lock/unlock icon. I agree there is no reason to hide it in a menu.m-ac wrote: Fri Aug 12, 2022 1:22 pmYou can lock it, just hit the 3 little dots in the top right of the arp page. I can understand you not knowing it's there though, I've got no idea why its so convoluted to get to. Just put a little lock icon that we can switch on and off top right?Caine123 wrote: Fri Aug 12, 2022 11:00 am One thing, it would be cool to have some kind of LOCK function? e.g. you lock the Arp or layer and then scroll through other presets and then you got the ARP setting with the new preset etc.

Interesting, I guess if you have had it a while and invested in the libraries you will probably upgrade etc. The concept of 'just' a romper seems to be long gone with the 'do it all' synths. I own Avenger and that almost seemed to be a sort of Nexus + Synthesis based on the pre-set packs I have heard which seem very 'polished' for production.m-ac wrote: Mon Aug 15, 2022 1:02 pmI don't believe it is worth the price, at least not in the last 5 or 6 years. 12 years ago it might of been worth it due to the quality of the presets, and obviously there wasn't as much choice back then. The same people that heralded nexus as brilliant 12 years ago (I was one of them) would be the same people that raved about massive 8 years ago, and serum in the last few years. I'd guess the majority of people who still use nexus were using it years ago and just stick with what they know. Put it this way, if nexus was newly released today, i doubt they'd sell more than a handful of copies. Harsh but true.SLiC wrote: Mon Aug 15, 2022 11:28 am I am curious, what makes Nexus worth the price. There doesn't seem to be a demo but it seems popular, so there must be something compared to say Omnisphere and Falcon (which also have no demos but I still bought them both!). Unlike Omni and Falcon It doesn't seem to have any synthesis at all- does it just play back samples (a true romper, not a hybrid)? If so, I guess it must all be about the quality of the 'packs' (@ £60 each), so is it based around fast production ready sounds for people who don't want to create their own?

It has a pretty extensive and expandable library, is very fast to use (auditioning and selecting sounds), and has low CPU utilization. It is very popular with those who make music for a living because time is money. DJ/Producers who are on the road also like it because they can run it easily on an underpowered notebook computer.SLiC wrote: Mon Aug 15, 2022 11:28 am I am curious, what makes Nexus worth the price. No not a sale, I mean the standard prices. They definitely weren't £62.

£62 for a 'soundpack' with 120 or so rompler pre-sets is ridiculous (I see them for £61 FYI, maybe the price changes dynamically based on exchange rate?) Its about what I paid for Pigments 3 and you can currently by Phase Plant 2 for £80!

Prices in USD have not changed for a long time. They are right at 60USD. Maybe they adjusted the exchange rate (which is not pretty right now).m-ac wrote: Tue Aug 30, 2022 8:57 amNo not a sale, I mean the standard prices. They definitely weren't £62.

Hey, good news - a price drop today. It's only £61 now.
Maybe overall prices changed when they restructured their pricing earlier this month? You get up to 50% off if you buy several.

I wish when you bought 5 (or more) ALL selected expansions were reduced by 50%. Currently, the first one still stays at the full price. Considering $60 is a little on the higher side, this approach would have been very tempting.noiseboyuk wrote: Tue Aug 30, 2022 11:08 am Hey, good news - a price drop today. It's only £61 now.

Yeah, I'll confess I didn't clock that. Not so tempting after all.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Tue Aug 30, 2022 2:30 pmI wish when you bought 5 (or more) ALL selected expansions were reduced by 50%. Ach, I probably have all I need from Nexus at this point. Retrospectively, I think the Nexus 4 fiasco might have been the nudge I need to go elsewhere from here on.

You can right-click an area to lock it in Nexus 2. For example, right-click the reverb, and an option to lock it will appear. There's no way to lock parameters in the center screen, though.m-ac wrote: Fri Aug 12, 2022 1:22 pmYou can lock it, just hit the 3 little dots in the top right of the arp page.
