Demo'd and must say it's absolutely loaded. 11 modes, plenty of modulation, but for me the secret star is the feedback loop. Whoever pitched that idea can get a raise. Also nice tutorials, Arturia.
My offer is $29 and at that price it's unmatched, complainers will complain tho :-/

The feedback loop is indeed brilliant.memrise wrote: Tue Aug 30, 2022 9:02 pm but for me the secret star is the feedback loop. Whoever pitched that idea can get a raise.
The only smallish gripe I have is that it’s kinda hard to see which targets are being modulated by a modulation source. Other than that, it’s easy to use, sounds good, and the modulation options are a lot of fun.

completely in love with this thing. brilliant stuff
1 minor gripe; i don't like the fact that arturia is going all 'almost' white UI's. the ui looks nice and fresh, but i would love a 'dark mode' for the late night sessions..

Wow this is like the plugin effect of my dreams! So many useful features!
I have three major gripes though:
1. I have three of every preset making it a PITA to go through them. Installer bug maybe?
2. AFAIK no way to see what is modulating what. A right click pop-up to show modulation is definitely needed.
3. Really would like to see Gain reduction in the dynamics section and some metering in general.

And then it they waited to add this, people would complain that their NEXT plugin should've also been part of the update.martinjuenke wrote: Tue Aug 30, 2022 7:43 pm This should have been part of the last upgrade! Not very customer friendly...
Or you can just buy bundles if you think the included software it's worth the purchase cost, and let them release plugins as they finish them. Much, much easier for both parties than this weird neurotic stuff. It's not like their last bundle update was anything even close to expensive. This plugs intro offer is cheap as hell too for how good it is

It's Arturia we're talking about here! Here's what they'll probably do:martinjuenke wrote: Tue Aug 30, 2022 7:43 pm This should have been part of the last upgrade! Not very customer friendly...
1. If you already bought FX Collection 3 and then spend $29 bucks on this now...
2. It will get bundled into FX Collection 4 in a year or so...
3. FX Collection 4 will probably include 2-3 completely new things in addition to this, AND...
4. They'll likely* offer you $29-$49 off the FX Collection V3 to FX Collection-4 upgrade compared to people who have FX Collection 3 but don't own COLDFIRE.
...which is actually VERY customer friendly!
*I don't work for Arturia and any forward-looking statements are non-binding, based on historical experiences, and best guesses. These statements are not guarantees of future offers made on behalf of Arturia or Funkybot's Evil Twin.
This is what they do every time there is a V-Collection upgrade and you already purchased one of the synths that got added to the bundle in the latest release.

1. Its fine here but with only VST3 chosen on install.fceramic wrote: Tue Aug 30, 2022 11:31 pm Wow this is like the plugin effect of my dreams! So many useful features!

2. You just need to mouse over the modulator and brightly coloured halos corresponding to modulation intensity appear around each of the destinations.

What might be the Arturia Black Friday discount offers?

My offer on this is $49, which means I've spent a shit-tonne of money on Arturia stuff I literally never use. As in never-ever. So what's another $49? A couple of the demo's sound very good but, equally, a few more don't make any worthwhile difference to the sound. So, like everything, you end up using it for those couple of things and you ignore the rest. It might still be worth $49 but I'll have to check the demo first, because $49 for an effect is still a lot of money.

I might give in though.BONES wrote: Wed Aug 31, 2022 2:33 am My offer on this is $49, which means I've spent a shit-tonne of money on Arturia stuff I literally never use. As in never-ever. Hi, I've seen this question at least a dozen times today, so I finally decided to write my first article
I was already planning this article for the past couple days, so thank you for motivating me to finish it
https://www.databroth.com/blog/coldfire ... vs-thermal
here is a breakdown between coldfire rift and thermal
it goes over unique features, limitations and crossover features, more will be added to it soon (still learning squarespace)
Check out my website for synth/software articles reviews and presets http://databroth.com (new review every monday)
I also do experimental sound design and demos of plugins (no talking) on my youtube: https://www.youtube.com/databroth

I have a plan. I'm gonna show up on the front steps of the Arturia building in tattered clothes and dirty bare feet and tell them, "Please sir. I'm but a poor and destitute soul. Can you please bequeath COLDFIRE to me? And while you're at it, a powerful laptop on which to sequence the next Beyonce hit?" I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my idea will work.
If you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bullshit.

Telling myself: At $29, resistance is futile for this one.
