I did a few more tests and the results really surprised me!

I placed MuLab plugin containing Unify VST (loaded with four instances of Dune 3 with some CPU intensive patches) on a single track of my DAW, and my CPU monitor showed me this:

I don't know what to think - it shows that (in this scenario) multi-processing works with MuLab plugin! Any clue?

I did even more tests and my conclusion is: MuLab plugin works great with all of my 3rd party plugins that support multithreading (Windows OS) - no issues at all! I'm really happy with it.

Initially, I was interested in MuLab's MIDI features only, but later on I found out that with it's oscillators and other provided modules it can easily beat most of the 3rd party VST synths available today - it just sounds fantastic. Adding multithreading support to it's own modules would be a really big thing.

Another cost effective solution for those who would like to layer multiple sounds using single instrument track (sound stack) is NI Maschine software (£59). The software is intended for owners of MASCHINE hardware who do not have a software license, but it also works without Maschine hardware and supports multithreading.

Here is a CPU utilization graph - Maschine plugin loaded with four instances of MuLab (I choose some of the most CPU intensive patches to see how it works - and it works just fine).
