ttoz would be horrified to learn that most people in the US assume I'm from Oz (apart from a few freaks who assume I'm German??).

Same here accent wise on confusion (not an essex breed) – no one can really tell if I am English, American or from Australia. Which is pretty bizarre as they all sound completely different.

There are parts of England where the accent is not that unlike the Aussie accent. I used to be terrible at telling them apart (strangely enough, that was when I was still a Brit), but I've gotten pretty good at being able to tell them apart now.

I love hearing an English impersonation of an American accent though. It always cracks me up.

I've had a few problems with some of the words and didn't know how exactly to pronounce it.

I tried to speak it fast because otherwise it probably would sound even stranger.

As you can hear I've had the biggest problem with 'fo dem ta do so' - it's almost impossible for me to speak that phrase.
