Hi there,

Wanted to try Waveform but your flatpak is stuck on version 11.5 on Flathub. Any ETA of when should it be updated to ver. 12?

Thanks,

You will need to set up an account on the Tracktion website to authorise your installation. If you do that, you should be able to download the free version 12 from the Tracktion site.

Ah, but you see, I use Fedora Silverblue, so I am unable to install the .deb directly nor do the workaround (i.e. by converting the .deb into .rpm). It's an immutable distro, so I cannot unzip files to the filesystem.

Besides, Flatpak seemingly becomes the standard for distro-agnostic software distribution, so could you please update it with the most recent version?

Or maybe the download manager? Or both?

Ah, I see. Perhaps whoever Flatpacked it the last time will repeat the job soon. (I'm just a regular user, but on Windows).

(The best of both worlds is to have both worlds, of course, so getting a USB SSD for $40 and installing some variety of Debian on it, AVLinux perhaps, would be optimal.)

Tracktion is not related to flathub in any ways, ask that "maintainer" there.

You can extract binary to your home.

Ahh, I did but he's still unresponsive. I wonder if there's way to install 11.5 as a Flatpak and then unzip 12 onto it ...

Would you mind to guide me through it?

I'm a newbie, tried to convert the .deb to .rpm and then extract it with instructions I found somewhere, but the paths were in system folders /usr/bin etc. So I thought that it can't be done because it asks for those paths that are inaccessible in my case.

Help would be very appreciated!

That way I or other stuff can't screw with my system. It's even better for beginners if you think about it, the problem I see is that programs assume they have a regular system with filesystem access to work with.

Which one? I have a .deb one and extracted a data.tar.xz from it.
I also don't have a ~/bin/ folder. :(

OK, decided to just go with it, unzip the executable and run it through Toolbox. Seems to work fine, will test and report back.

I'm tired of looking for a solution to this problem. I use Fedora, not Ubuntu.
I finally switched to Bitwig, they provide an official Flatpak download for Linux. And it works great!

I don't use Ubuntu. So the ".deb" format doesn't work for me.

I use openSUSE, rpm-based distro and do install of WF deb without problem.
For example there is Alien tool for that.

How did you installed in Opensuse, because I converted it with Alien but WF doesn't load, it start like in a second but close immediately?
