Hi,

I once deleted a sample that was used on a track. So, I fired up the track and got the warning message that a sample file was missing. However, even after I replace that missing file with another one, save the project, quit it, and start it, I still get the warning message.

Click the "Info" button, that will show you the path to the sample file.
That should make it clear to you why it is not found.

This is what I did.

1) Saved the track with some samples. Quit ML.
2) I moved a sample used in the track to a different location. Started ML.
3) I got the warning message.
4) Deleted the sample in the track, and added it again (the sample is coming from the "new location").
5) Saved and exited the project.
6) Started the project. I still got the warning message again.

If you only deleted the track or parts the original sample reference still is there.
Adding a new sample from a new location simply is another new sample in your project, unrelated to the 'original' sample.

So if you want to update/replace the file path reference of a sample best to use "Locate" upon that missing file alert.

Alternatively you can use a sample's "Replace" context function.

Ah.. so this is how it works. Got it. Thanks.

Where is the "Replace" function?

In the Sample context menu.

You're showing the context menu of an Audio Stream part.

For the difference between Audio Streams and Samples, see https://www.mutools.com/info/M9/docs/mu ... mples.html
