...the comparison with u-he is ridiculous, that's true, but insinuating that Super 8, Monark, Form, Kontour, Razor, Rounds, Skanner XT and TRK-01 would be standalone synths, that could be compared to the synths in u-he's portfolio is ridiculous as well. These synths are very useful and mature, but they're still based on Reaktor and will most certainly not be developed any further. They might only get maintenance updates through Reaktor, but no new features or in some cases not even bug-fixing (but I might remember it incorrectly).
Obviously.

Just the ones which are in KVR's database, the other ones of course also received updates, but, NI doesn't keep an update history. And, the ones on KVR doesn't have to be complete either, but, I don't know that really. I have seen it on some products that the latest versions weren't listed.
Up until 8 years ago (when they last seemed interested in synthesizers). ;)
FM8 was released 16 years ago and has received little in the way of development since. Basically, NI gives about a year of updates after initial release, then its treated like a finished product and it's kept until they discontinue it at some point.

That is their model.

NI are based in Germany. One should expect reasonable amounts of bier, sauerkraut un bratwurst there.

Ah yes, that fine tradition of reanimating the same legacy bloatware from aeons back, with a few token updates and whatever, every damn time.

Definitely one way to keep making money. One might indeed wonder how well that business model would work if Kontakt hadn’t arbitrarily become the default host for overpriced sample libraries across the entire internet, quite some years ago.

'KONTAKT 7 will launch in October 2022' - Remember when they said that about Massive X- came out 6 months late and still obviously wasn't ready even then. I can't believe they are trying that trick again, selling the upgrade to K14 without the only software that has actually been updated...why not wait until its ready then launch K14 with the software actually ready to download? Scant detail on K7, no video...all very suspicions and I unless you want the other stuff, I wouldn't recommend upgrading to get Kontakt 7 until its actualy launched.
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I was also surprised when I saw that, but Kontakt 7 as part of Komplete 14 will be available on September 27 from what I read on NI forums. It's just that Kontakt 7 will be separately available for purchase in October. I think it's an early bird advantage thing for Komplete 14 updaters/upgraders and they want people to jump to Komplete 14. Otherwise, eligible people might be able to update to Kontakt 7 for as low as $99 right away.

Thats interesting, it certainly didn't read that way to me on their website, you would have thought they would be making more of that? At least we will definitely get to see it soon if that the case, it must be ready now if it can be downloaded in a few weeks, so hopefully some videos soon....it's the only interesting think to me in K14

Exactly and the same for many others, which is why this move. :) I think it should all be fine this time. As you said, we should hopefully get some more information or videos on Kontakt 7 as we approach September 27. :tu:

I'm surprised there have been zero details about what Kontakt 7 will offer. Hopefully we will finally see high resolution support. And of course that developers will update their instruments with a high-res UI too.

I think version 7 will not change much in the next two years. Adjusting the libraries to hires will take time, and we all have lots of old stuff around. I just hope everything is compatible and playing nice together.

NI is in Berlin. There is Kebab, Drugs and Vegan Sausages, and if you mention those awful barbarian bavarian things you listed, you'll thrown out of town (or need a dentist).

I just hope they are adding more than a new browser and that this leak was just an early test release not the full thing or it will be very disappointing (again)...I suspect however that K7 will look pretty much exactly like K6 other than the browser.

Maybe because they think that the newly include sound packs and plugins from Plugin-Alliance and iZotope are a great enough value for their customers and/or their target group.

For me Komplete 1-5 (I think) were not interesting, I entered at some point and now, I guess, I am no longer a member of the target group. So, they shifted their focus, the only bad thing about that is losing some great products which are no more interesting for them (e.g. Absynth).
