When you press solo on a muted track, it's obvious that you want to hear that track. But you don't. Why?

In the old hardware days, it wasn't uncommon for a mixer to do exactly what Waveform does: you can mute a solo track and kill its audio, and if you pressed solo on a muted track, mute wins over solo.

It was also common for solo to disable mute on a muted track on other hardware. You just had to remember which did what.

However, I really don't think this is the case any longer: I think pretty much all hardware and software disables mute when you press solo--otherwise, there's no point to it, right? No one solos a muted track with the intention of mute winning out.

I suspect this is a change Waveform is going to have to make sooner rather than later. You can tell this happened to me a couple days ago, too!

In my case, I often want to check whats on a muted track. I might have several takes of the same material on muted tracks and want to listen to them in sequence, to compare the versions. This would be much quicker if I don't have to unnute and re-mute the tracks everytime.

Totally understandable.
